SAFE TRAVEL: TUI AS RELIABLE PARTNER
Like no other form of travel, the package tour offers safety and the highest consumer protection standards. This is how TUI Group assumes responsibility from the booking to the return journey. We are always there for our guests - also through our own teams in almost all vacation regions.
Our safety and crisis management
Our safety policies have been setting standards for the tourism industry since a while. In the wake of the pandemic, this process strengthened as we revised our safety management processes, developed new hygiene and safety standards and successfully tested them in pilot projects. Our package Holidays constitute a good example, as we offer our guests high levels of security along the entire value chain. In contrast to the so-called modular tours or linked travel arrangements, where risk and costs – for example in the event of repatriation – lie with the holiday maker and governments.
Highest safety standards
Especially in the event of exceptional situations, such as the first lockdown in March 2020, TUI Group demonstrates its agility: in a very short time period, TUI flew around 200,000 people back to their home countries. And in the summer of 2023, when large-scale forest fires raged on Rhodes, TUI evacuated around 8,000 guests and organised special flights to Germany.
TUI Group’s customer service:
- Professional security management: TUI's crisis management monitors all worldwide destinations around the clock. Whether natural disasters, strikes, political unrest or epidemics; the team classifies events at an early stage and prepares measures. The TUI crisis team consists of half a dozen employees with decision-making authority and is ready to act within minutes.
- Care: Holidaymakers receive a 24-hour care service via the app and in person on site. TUI is always the direct contact, whether it's a matter of rebooking, excursions or doctor's appointments at the vacation destination. For this purpose, the travel group employs around 8,500 people in more than 100 destinations worldwide.
