The Ingles Open Road: Asheville Jeep Tours

On the Ingles Open Road, we love the Blue Ridge Mountains. The ever-changing terrain, bio- and ecological diversity, and dramatic landscapes practically beg for exploration. That's why we took a trip unlike anything else into the Pisgah National Forest to explore an incredible corner of North Carolina on four wheels with Asheville Jeep Tours.

The vision of owner Clayton Manch is to take visitors out into the wild to experience some of the out-of-the-way highlights that the locals know and visitors crave. While on your trip, you get to learn about your surroundings, the history of the area, and fun facts about the forest, and you can get your feet wet by trying out a few hiking spots by some of the area's most beautiful waterfalls.

We began the tour at one of the lesser-known destinations in the forest: Daniel Ridge Falls. This waterfall can be reached by an easy hike, but it's definitely off the beaten path in Pisgah. Having a guide like Clayton to show you the way is a great option so that you can enjoy the view and not worry about your GPS going offline.

Our next stop took us to one of our favorites in the forest: Slick Rock Falls. The name is no joke. DO NOT go climbing on waterfalls. But when viewed from a safe vantage point, these are some of the most breathtaking cascades anywhere in the country.

Finally, we stopped at the quintessential "must-see" on any visit to Pisgah: Looking Glass Falls. This is a gorgeous waterfall that you need to see in person. Looking Glass Falls is 60 feet tall and is just as spectacular in the winter as it is in the spring, summer, and fall. It's a fitting finale to an amazing day out with Asheville Jeep Tours, which is an absolute blast to experience!

Girls Get-Away

We were on a girls trips and wanted a morning hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Ivana picked us up at our hotel to start our tour. The drive was beautiful and Ivana was very conscientious about making sure we got the most out of our Adventure. We made 3 stops and saw amazing waterfalls. Ivana also took lots of pictures for us....I would highly recommend Ivana and Asheville Adventures!

What will we do?

This tour is the perfect way to explore the Blue Ridge Mountains in winter. This seasonal tour takes you up scenic mountain roads through Pisgah National Forest. We will reach the famous Blue Ridge Parkway at 5,300ft. above sea level. Along the way, we will stop to see two roadside waterfalls. Your guide will treat you to interesting stories, information about the forest, and a cup of hot chocolate!

Book it. A fun family day for all ages. We were a family including a teenager, a 40-something and an early retirement age couple. Everyone had a blast. The guide was an Asheville native demonstrating a wealth of knowledge on the area and habitat. The tour is reasonably priced for what you get. The ride is smooth and comfortable. I do recommend dressing in layers, wearing sneakers, and not wearing a ball cap (you will lose it in the wind)
