Just got back from myrtle Beach s.c. Worst hotels ever, mattresses were horrible. Couldn't wait to get back home. Save your money.
My husband and I booked a trip to Canada from North Carolina. The bus had mechanical failures in Virginia. We waited for 5 hours for repair. We thought it was resolved! The tripped included dinner for that evening. Because we missed the reservation due the mechanical program we were responsible for our own dinner. We traveled less than two hours and we are now sitting on a side of the highway! It is mid July and hot!!!
Just returned from a trip to NYC and Philly arranged by this group. If u like having to wait till after 8AM to eat breakfast and dinner at 4:30PM, this is the tour company for you. Additionally, our group was put up in a hotel that is right off the highway outside of NYC; the noise from the continuous traffic was bad. Making it even worse was the tires hitting the metal plates as it started on the bridge less than 50 feet away. Day 1 and 2, we were taken to The 9/11 Museum, The new World Trade Bldg, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty. Third day in NYC was spent with the guide mostly pointing out names of buildings and which celebrity lived in which neighborhoods. Total waste of time. A visit to The Tenement Museum, The Cloisters, or any other of the city's fabulous would have been a better choice. Never again with this company.
My husband and I along with several friends went on a tour with Diamond Tours. Our destination was Martha's Vineyard from Atlanta. Our bus was very uncomfortable-seats and aisle was very narrow. The passengers were 95% Senior Citizen including 2 ppl in their 90s. There were several stops and places that was unnecessary. The meals they say are included was terrible. One evening dinner was served to 4 of their buses in basement of a restaurant. We had 3 nights in motel - the place was from the 60s needed updating. There are no modern conveniences in the room. No microwave or refrigerator. We arrived at 10:30pm. The passengers who could not climb steps had to move to a lower level. people were up until 2am. there were several who changed rooms 3x because of the condition of the rooms. This was the worse trip - I have ever been on
The tour is really sad. The resort is dirty and the places to eat are down right awful. Save your time and money. I will never go again.
I was quite surprised of the reviews on Diamond Tours as I reviewed them today. I am a tour leader and I have done five very successful tours with Diamond Tours. Tours were to Washington DC, Niagara Falls and Toronto, the ark encounter, Montreal, Quebec, Ottawa, and New York City. Everyone of these tours were quite pleased and enjoy the trips. They are always eager to know when and where is the trip. I Never had a bus to break down Buses were newer buses. Meals were adequate and in some instances exceeded expectations. We ate at the Buffet restaurant about the Niagara Falls. That was second to none with a fantastic view of the falls. In Ottawa, we ate at Maple farm farm house restaurant with home cooked meals, family style, and our tour guide did a rendition of the Irish river dance for entertainment. All of our tour guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. Support from the staff and your directors were always on point. Staff Very professional from beginning to end. I could go on and on. I have no reservations in booking my tours with Diamond Tours in the future. My recommendation to leaders is to get a very clear understanding of all the places you will be visiting and ask questions. Manage your trip know your itinerary and don't just ride along.
Shitty bus. Broke down. Food was horrible. Don't let them take your money. Go to a better group. Hotels had roaches. Don't believe me. Google them.
October 25-27, 2022 - Trip to Pigeon Forge and Smoky Mountains Show Trip. I am the Group Leader of this trip. Left at 8:30 AM and the first stop was Historic Gatlinburg. Had only 1.5 hours there because the bus driver got lost. Checked into the LaQuinta Inn in Kodak, TN (the hotel was fine). Thirty minutes later, we were back on the bus and went to dinner. Then we went to the show and met our Destination Manager, Nancy, who told us she's there for us if we need anything. After the show, it was back on the bus for our 30 minute ride back to the hotel. Bus broke down 10 minutes later on a highway (a fan belt snapped off). Called our Destination Manager and told her what happened and her response was "I don't handle the bus breaking down." It's pouring rain, my husband is at the top of the hill directing traffic away from the lane we were in because if a car came over the hill, it would have crashed into the back of the bus. I was given two other phone numbers to call. Unbelievable. A cop came and said we had 20 minutes to move the bus and said everyone (all 70+ Senior Citizens) would have to get off the bus and WALK, in the pouring rain, to a gas station that was at the end of the road. I told the cop this could not happen. Some people got an Uber back to the hotel. The bus was getting warm, one person was diabetic, another needed his medication. End result, after my suggestion - they brought in another Diamond Tours bus that had already taken their passengers back to their hotel. We got to our hotel at 1:00 AM. Our group had been up since 6:30 AM and it was now 1:00 AM. I texted our Destination Manager, and another woman I talked to on the phone, at 1:00 AM to let them know we finally got to our hotel - no response. Everyone was exhausted the next morning and our show was at 9:30 AM. We had yet another bus to get on in the morning. In our three days, we were on four different buses and our original bus stayed on the side of the road the entire time. There was never an "I'm sorry" from our Destination Manager, or anyone from Diamond Tours. Diamond would not offer any type of compensation - a lunch voucher for $10 would have been appreciated...... something...... anything... for our inconvenience. After I got back home, I called and spoke to a Supervisor, and we were offered a $15 voucher for a future Diamond Tours trip. I wrote to the CEO and no response. I was told that if anyone in my group writes or calls, they will not respond. I had another tour already being planned, but my group will NEVER go on another Diamond Tour. I also wanted to mention that our hotel was SO FAR AWAY from anything. We always had a 30-45 minute ride and there was nothing in the area we could even walk too. So very disappointed. On a good note, the shows were all wonderful. I have organized five tours with Diamond and they were all OK because nothing went wrong. But when something DOES go wrong, they do not have your back. I am unwilling to take a chance on another trip. The safety of the Senior Citizens going with me is most important and I don't trust Diamond anymore. My group found the silver lining.... if the fan belt had snapped off as we were driving on a windy road, our bus driver would have lost her power steering and things could have been much worse. When it happened, we were on a straight section of the highway and she was able to pull the bus over immediately. Our bus driver was just wonderful the entire time.
My husband and I recently went on a 9 day bus tour of 46 people from Ocala, FL to Niagara Falls, Canada and Toronto and back. Our tour was well planned out with many stops at attractions, restaurants and bathroom breaks. We saw and did more than we can remember but the ultimate was to see Niagara Falls which was an incredible experience. Also Casa Loma in Toronto was breath takingly beautiful and impressive. The bus was adequate, the AC was spot on, seeing movies helped pass the time...the aisle is a wee bit 'skinny' which made getting off and on a bit tricky at times. We do want to mention Eric Smith our bus driver. What a nice nice man! He was professional, pleasant, friendly, accommodating, always on time and always 'went the extra mile' (No pun intended) A bus trip with Eric at the wheel is a bonus indeed.
Eric Smith...great guy, super bus driver. NICE man!

I just returned from Key west trip driver Kevin and group leader Debbie was excellent. The Diamond rep Robert Melwine was very rude to me told me shhhh to be quite! He should be reminded people like me help pay his salary. Very embarrassing to me to be told to be quite, Robert was RUDE RUDE . Rating zero for Robert everything else good. Others didn't like the way Robert acted.
