A private helicopter flight from Kathmandu or Pokhara by Air Dynasty to Muktinath Helicopter tour for best adventure holidays or religious journey is one of most popular Muktinath Dham tours by helicopter ride tour.  Muktinath Temple (Chumig Gyatsa) is located at the laps of snow-capped mountains at Thorong-La mountain pass at an altitude of 3710 meters above sea level in the Mustang district of Nepal. This temple is covered in one of the famous trekking routes of the Annapurna Circuit.

The Pagoda style Muktinath Temple is a symbol of the religious symbiosis between both Hindus and Buddhists. Hindus believe that Lord Vishnu got salvation from the curse of Brinda (wife of Jalandhar) here. Therefore he is worshipped as Muktinath (Lit. the lord of salvation). The holy shrine, which is said to have risen on its own, is one of eight such shrines (the others include Srirangam, Sri Mushnam, Tirupati, Naimisaranyam, Thottadri, Pushkaram, and Badrinath). It is also one of 108 Vaishnava shrines. Here in the early 19th century, the Hindus consecrated a Vishnu Temple and named it Muktinath – Lord of Liberation. Against a backdrop of incredible starkness, you can sit and stare to the south at the snow-covered Annapurna range, or to the north the Tibetan plateau.

Muktinath Temple word is derived from Mukti and Nath. “Mukti” means “Salvation or Nirvana” and “Nath” means “God or Master”. Mukti Holds great significance for all spiritual people in the south Asian sub-continent. Muktinath; this Sanskrit name has a religious overtone and a sort of emotional ring for the devout Hindus. The name is a synthesis of two words – (the provider of salvation) has been one such holy site, where thousands of devotees flock for attaining the much sought-after moksha (Freedom) from the cycle of birth and rebirth. It is an ardent wish or a dream if you may say, of every Hindu to get Mukti-Nirvana from this cycle of taking births over and over again. It is the belief of the Hindus that this world is “MAYA” (an illusion) and the earliest one gets out of it the better and a visit to Muktinath will help them achieve that goal. Since then it called Muktinath. The Hindus call it Muktichhetra (place of salvation) is one of the four religious sites. Many Shaligrams (Ammonite) found during Muktinath Tour over here are considered by Hindus as an incarnation of Lord Vishnu and worship them. According to Hindu Myth lord Vishnu turned into Shaligram because of Brinda’s Curse. Muktinath Temple is open throughout the year but especially in Rishitarpani, Ram Navami, and Bijay Dashami. Thousands of pilgrims gather here to celebrate the festivals.

The helicopter flight to Muktinath temple

Last October, we did a helicopter tour of Muktinath Temple with our 10 group of people from Kathmandu. We got to know that only five people can travel in one helicopter. Thus, Boundless Adventure managed two helicopters for our team. The tour went amazing. The helicopter flight to Muktinath temple with the aerial view of the majestic Himalayas will forever be in our hearts.

As it was peak season, we couldn’t land at the nearest helipad in Muktinath. We landed a little far and got to Muktinath through horseback riding. The professionalism and friendliness of the Boundless Adventure team made the trip even more enjoyable. They were ensuring our safety throughout our journey. We highly recommend the Muktinath helicopter tour with Boundless Adventure. Ankit Lokhande, India

Landing near the Muktinath temple

We can’t express our feelings by writing this review we had in our Muktinath helicopter tour. And, of course, Boundless Adventure’s exceptional care and service towards us is commendable. The scenic flight of around one and a half hours was thrilling, with each part providing a different perspective of Nepal’s extraordinary landscape.

Landing near the Muktinath temple was so relaxing, and that feeling was like stepping foot in heaven. Luckily, we were in a less traffic season. Thus, we could land at the nearest helipad without requiring long walking to reach the temple. From the temple’s premises to each part of the region, everything seems to be magical. Boundless Adventure ensured that our journey was smooth and memorable.

We highly recommend the Muktinath helicopter tour to anyone seeking a quick and unique Nepal adventure with no other Boundless Adventures. Zaw Win, Myanmar

MUKTINATH HELICOPTER TOUR

Muktinath Temple and the Buddhist monastery.

Choosing the Muktinath helicopter tour with Boundless Adventure was a decision that I’ll never regret. Our family had a memorable time and journey on the tour. Boundless Adventure welcomed us hospitably at Tribhuvan International Airport and dropped us off at our hotel. They were our best companions from the beginning to the end of our journey. We had a great chance to explore the Muktinath Temple and the Buddhist monastery.

The helicopter was of the latest model, the pilot was skilled, and the journey was smooth and comfortable. Seeing the majestic landscapes of Mustang and Muktinath from above and closer was a sight we’ll cherish for our entire lives. Also, the aerial views of the Annapurna and other mountain ranges were just beautiful. Visiting the temple and bathing at 108 water sports provide our bodies with positive urges. The tour was memorable, thanks to Boundless Adventure for their well-organized service. Mahendra Singh, India

Muktinath Helicopter Tour Major Attraction:

Muktinath Kunda

In front of  Muktinath Temple , there are 2 Kunda (Water ponds). This is generally used for holy dipping and is believed to hold the power to wash away negative karma and the results of one’s past negative actions.

Jwala Mai Temple

A little below the  Muktinath Temple  you can see the Tibetan-style Jwala Mai Temple. This Temple is famous for the water that it issues from a rock inside it. Inside this Temple behind a tattered curtain, are small natural gas jest that produces Continuously burning flame, the Jwala Mai temple has a spring and there are three eternal flames “Holy flame from soil”, “Holy flame from rock” and “Holy flame from water” fed by natural gas. Apparently, two flames are continuously burning. The Hindus believe that this fire was lit as an offering made by Brahma himself, (the creator) as he set water on fire.

Gumba Samba

This is a monastery of Tibetan origin. Legend has it that the Syandol Lama, a monk from Tibet founded this monastery. This was actually used as a hostel for monks before collapsed and the people of Tibet and Jharkot later restored it. The main deities ’ Monastries are Sakyamuni, Chingresig, and Guru Rimpoche. The monastery is situated at the left from the entrance gate of the Muktinath temple complex, which would be worth it.

Swaminarayan

A Hindu Guru by the name of Lord Shri Swaminarayan is generally associated with the Temple of Muktinath. Also known as a Satguru of Sabij Yoga, towards the end of the 18th century he practiced severe penance in Muktinath for two and a half months and attained the highest degree of proficiency in Nishkamvrat. In 2003 his followers funded the new wall around Muktinath and raised a small monument for him at Muktinath.

Another attraction for the pilgrimage is the River kali Gandaki from where one can collect fossils of the Jurassic age. You can also buy these fossils from the locals.  Shaligram,  a black stone fossil if found, is considered sacred and is kept in Pooja (prayer) room in the house. It is supposed to be a symbol of Lord Vishnu. Gloriously described in Puranas as Krishnagandaki (Black Gandaki) as well as Chakranadi, and worshipped as one of the holiest rivers, Krishnagandaki consists of seven Gandaki rivers supposed to have sprung from the cheek (Gandasthal) of Lord Vishnu.

Muktinath Temple  is Situated at an altitude of 3,710 meters (12,172 feet) at the base of the Thorong La mountain pass in the Mustang district,  Muktinath Temple  is a highly venerated sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhists.

Hindus call the site Mukti Kshetra, which literally means the “place of salvation” and it is one of the most ancient temples of the God Vishnu and the Vaishnava tradition in Nepal. The shrine is considered to be one of the eight sacred places known as Svayam Vyakta Kshetras (the other seven being Srirangam, Srimushnam, Tirupati, Naimisharanya, Totadri, Pushkar, and Badrinath), as well as one of the 108 Divya Desam, or holy places of worship of Lord Vishnu. Additionally, it is also one of the 51 Shakti Pitha goddess sites.

The Muktinath temple is small and contains a human-sized golden statue of Vishnu as Shri Mukti Narayana. In addition to Mukti Narayana, the temple has bronze images of Bhoodevi (the Earth-goddess form of Lakshmi), the goddesses Saraswati and Janaki (Sita), Garuda (the mount of Vishnu), Lava-Kusa (the sons of Rama and Sita), and the Sapta Rishis (Seven Sages created by Lord Brahma). There is an old Buddhist monk present in the temple and worship is conducted by Buddhist nuns.

We organised 7 days Trip for Muktinath for the 25 pilgrimages of Tamil Nadu during May and Sep 2019 – Mr Ramesh, owner and founder of Well Nepal Travel, has come to Pokhara and ensured all arrangements. Muktinatha Pilgrimage – Well Nepal Group Trip I had taken group of traditional Tamil devotees from Coimbatore for Muktinath and Nepal Yatra from 8th Oct to 16th Oct, 2022. We had 40+ members with elders and children.

We had planned this tour 4 months well in advance. But the day we landed in Kathmandu the weather was rainy and cloudy. No flights were operating to Muktinatha. We felt very sad. But by seeing the forthcoming weather uncertainty Mr Ramesh made a plan to postpone our visit to Muktinatha by few days and that was the key decision to our successful Mission Muktinatha Darshan. 😇 Mr Ramesh and his team worked tirelessly to make all dynamic set to comfort our journey from day 1. 7 + flights and 5* Hotels rescheduling was big task. Kudos to Ramesh ji He made all the arrengements very seemlessly and we could easily visit all places as if everything was planned. The trip was excellent. All members felt blissful. I would say Lord Krishna was personally helping us throughout the tour with nice devotees like Mr Ramesh.

Heartfelt thanks to Ramesh ji and his team.🙏

May Lord Krishna bless him and his team with all goodness, health and prosperity. Give him many more opportunities! Hare Krishna! Source: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g293890-d6418049-Reviews-Well_Nepal_Treks-Kathmandu_Kathmandu_Valley_Bagmati_Zone_Central_Region.html

Myself and my wife visited this temple during our recent Nepal tour. The journey to Muktinath by helicopter ride from Pokhara city. The views more than compensated. The villages along the route are really scenic. The temple itself was very beautiful and I found it a deeply spiritual experience to take a shower under the 108 spouts of ice cold water and bask in the sunshine and the vibrations of the temple. Thank you so much Kulendra for your kind service in Nepal.

Muktinath Helicopter Tour Overview

Muktinath Helicopter Tour is the fastest and easiest way for Muktinath Darshan (pray). Every Hindu pilgrim all around the world wishes to visit the Muktinath Temple at least once in their life. But due to many issues like age, physical conditions, health and bounded by time, the travelers aren’t able to visit Muktinath overland drive or by trekking.

Hence, Muktinath Helicopter Tour is designed for you. The helicopter tour skips the adventurous off-roads and allows you to fly over the alpine Himalayas, witnessing a thousand miracles of Mother Nature from green lush hills to rocky cliffs, dazzling streams, and waterfalls, ancient caves, and monasteries.

By flying from Pokhara, you will get an opportunity to standpoint the destination, Poon Hill, Kagbeni, Muktinath, Kaligandaki gorge, and Jomsom. After landing in Muktinath, be prepared to be astonished by the too good to be true view of Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Macchapuchhre, Mt. Nilgiri, and so forth that has the core of thousands of visitants every year.

Consequently, at the rise of 3800 meters, you can frame your excursion towards Muktinath. Just within 3 hours, you can experience this entire journey of religious tour. The yatrus (travelers/pilgrims) will get to worship Muktinath Temple and Jwala Mai Temple, visit monasteries, and take a holy bath in 108 Muktidhara and Muktikunda. In case of unfavorable weather, sometimes the flight back may consume time until the weather clears out. This trip can hold up to 1 – 5 people on a single flight.

Muktinath Temple

Muktinath Temple is a significant religious site for both Hindus and Buddhists. This shrine revered to Lord Vishnu is located at the foot of the Thorong La pass. Its name is derived from “Mukti” which means salvation and “Nath” which means “God”, therefore Muktinath is known as “God of Salvation”. Hindu pilgrims also call it ‘Mukti Kshetra’, a place of salvation because they believe that taking bath in 108 Muktidhara (holy waterspout which flows from Kali Gandaki) and two Kundas (holy ponds) brings salvation forgiving their sins performed during lifetime.

Muktinath Temple is a Svayam Vyakta Kshetras, one of eight sacred places, one of the 4 most important Hindu heritages, also one of the 108 Divya Desam, as well as one of the 51 Shakti Pithas.

Muktinath is known as Chumig Gyatsa in Buddhism which means “Hundred Waters”. It holds great importance in Tibetan Buddhism as a place of ‘Dakinis’, goddess known as Sky Dancers, and also is one of 21 Tantric sanctuaries.

There is also another shrine known as Jwala Mai Temple or Salambar Dolamebar Gompa which is an eternal flame that produces fire eternally from Himalayan spring water resources as it produces natural gases. It represents a union between two opposite elements which is considered sacred in both religions.

Main Attraction of Muktinath Helicopter Tour

Indulging the statement of a luxurious visit towards the Hindu and Buddhist Pilgrimage site, Muktinath Temple, this tour counts the eye-capturing view of the lake paradise-Pokhara Valley. A picturesque mountain view of over 8000 meters confers breathtaking memories throughout your life. Likewise, when you are flying in between the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna massifs, the helicopter tour grants the feeling of a visit to like heaven.

This region also lies in the Annapurna Conservation region hence, is very rich in exquisite flora and fauna. Mustang is also popular for Shaligrams (Black Ammonite) that date way back to Jurrasic Park Period.

In Hinduism, Shaligram is believed to be the embodiment of Lord Vishnu. Mustang is also the only place on the planet where all five elements (fire, water, air, earth, and sky) that make up the universe are found at the same place. This region is filled with religious sites and many Hindu and Buddhist philosophers including Sakyamuni, Guru Rimpoche, Swaminarayan, and others have meditated here.  Muktinath Temple also falls on the way of Annapurna Circuit Trek.

Best Season

Muktinath Temple by Helicopter can be visited any time of the year. The ideal time to visit is Spring, Summer, and Fall/Autumn but it is also safe to visit during monsoon because Mustang is situated in the Trans-Himalayas region so it doesn’t receive more rainfall.

In this time Nepalese people celebrate their major festivals of Dashain and Tihar (Dipawali). This is the peak season of tourist arrivals in Nepal.

Muktinath Helicopter Tour

A private helicopter flight from Kathmandu or Pokhara to Muktinath Helicopter tour for best adventure holidays or religious trip is one of most popular Muktinath tours by helicopter ride.

Therefore, he is worshipped as Muktinath (Lit. the lord of salvation).

Since then, it called Muktinath.

About Muktinath tour by helicopter from Kathmandu

Why people visit muktinath temple.

Muktinath is the god of Salvation; it holds great significance for all spiritual people in the south Asian sub-continent. Muktinath (the provider of salvation) has been one such holy site, where thousands of devotees flock for attaining the much sought after moksha, have a holy bath on 108 waterspouts, name of "Muktidhara" & Holy bath in Mukti Kunda (2 Kunda in front of Temple), it's believing that it brings them salvation

Where does the temple located and its travel access?

Muktinath Temple is located at the laps of snowcapped mountains at Thorong-La pass at an altitude of 3710 meters above sea level in the Mustang district of Nepal. Travel access is a little difficult due to its harsh weather conditions. People can either fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara (25 minutes flight) then to Jomsom (15 minutes flight) and drive to the Temple (1:30 hours) or by roadway to Pokhara (7 hours by bus) to Jomsom (9 hours by jeep) then to the temple. Since, flight to Jomsom is operated in the early morning only, one night stay at Pokhara is a must. Nowadays people can charter a helicopter and easily access this temple in just 1 hour.

How much time is required by Helicopter?

Muktinath Temple is in a one-hour flying distance from Kathmandu and thirty minutes from Pokhara. After landing at the helipad at Muktinath, you will be provided one hour to have a darshan of Muktinath Dham. Temple is in a few minutes walking distances from the helipad. Since it's the windy place spending a long time for pooja might affect the flying time.

Muktinath Helicopter Tour Video

How many people are carried by Helicopter?

There are four and five seated helicopters available for charter to visit Muktinath Temple. So, it might cost expensive for one or two people and cheaper fare for more people.

What permits are required to visit this temple?

Muktinath temple lies in conservation and trekking zone. So, two permits are required to enter this area. One is Annapurna Conservation Area Project Permit (ACAP) and another is Trekker's Information Management System Permit (TIMS). It is restricted to enter in this zone without collecting these two permits.

Which are the best months?

March, April, May, June, September, October, and November are the best time to visit Muktinath Temple . During these months the weather will be clear and snow-capped mountains can be observed closely from Helicopter.

Can I visit Pokhara and stay there instead of returning back to Kathmandu?

Yes, you can. After Muktinath Yatra, you can land at Pokhara and stay there. The helicopter will be returned to Kathmandu. You can come back to Kathmandu either by Tourist Bus, Private Car or scheduled flight. By road, it takes seven hours and 25 minutes by flight.

Day 03: Kathmandu sightseeing After breakfast, we start an interesting tour around Kathmandu city. Escorting by an English speaking guide (we can provide any language speaking guide on your request), try to give them a full taste of our culture, heritage, and local people. In our sightseeing tour we go to Pashupatinath Temple, Jaal Narayan (Budhanilkantha), Swayambhunath (Monkey temple) and Kathmandu Durbar square

Pashupatinath Temple:  Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this is Nepal's most sacred Hindu shrine and one of the subcontinent's great Shiva sites. The supreme holiness of the site stems from the Shiva linga enshrined in its main temple. It expresses the very essence of Hinduism as pilgrims, priests, devotes, temples, ashrams, images, inscriptions, and cremation ghats intermingle with the rituals of daily life, all sprawled along the banks of the sacred Bagmati River. The temple's origins are obscure. An inscription here dates from 477 AD, but the shrine may have stood there for 1000 years before that.

Jaal Narayan (Budhanilkantha): Jaal Narayan popularly known as Budhanilkatha about 12 km north of Kathmandu, at the Shivapuri foothills is the largest Vishnu lying on a coiled five headed serpent carved in a single stone. Jalasaya Narayan is Lord Vishnu for Vaisnavas, Lord Shiva for Shivas, and Lord Buddha for Buddhists. This outstanding artwork of Lichhavi sculptures dates back to some 1500 years.

Swayambhunath Stupa:  6.5 kilometers west of Kathmandu, this great temple is just on the outskirts of Kathmandu. No one actually knows who built it. Many believe that the Lichavis constructed it while others believe that emperor Asoka had already visited it in the 3rd century.  The Swayambhunath complex consists of a giant Stupa, a large ensemble of shrines and temples, and also includes a Tibetan monastery, a museum, and a library. This site has two access points: a long stairway, claimed to have 365 steps, leading directly to the main platform of the temple, which is from the top of the hill to the east; and a car road around the hill from the south leading to the southwest entrance. The first sight on reaching the top of the stairway is the Vajra.

Kathmandu Durbar Square: Kathmandu's number one tourist attraction swarms with life. Though a few of the square's 50-plus monuments date from the 12th century, most are from the time of the Malla Kings. Probably the most famous building here is the Kumari Bahal, a building richly decorated with beautiful woodcarvings, which is home to the Royal Kumari, the Living Goddess and a manifestation of the great goddess Durga. An intriguing piece here is the 17th century stone inscription set into the wall of the palace with writings in 15 languages. The Durbar square, protected as a UNESCO World Heritage site, is the social, religious and urban focal point of the city. There are also museums inside the palace building. There is an entrance fee of Rs.250 for foreign visitors. In the Evening leisure, overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 04:  Final Departure After breakfast, you will have some free time until the time to leave the international airport for final departure.

Most memorable trip to Muktinath

I am a solo Piligrimage Traveller and for the first time travelled through travel agency along with my Father. Fortunately my entire trip was like a surprise package since I had no clue about the routes that I would come across while traveling to Muktinath Temple. Nipender who was the Operations Lead at Lumle Travel Agency accompanied us throughout the duration and educated us about each and every detail of the locations and the history behind it. We had a very skilled and professional Driver too who made the journey ease and fun. There was no issues with Accommodation and food during Muktinath Yatra. Also, we could stop the vehicle in between for site seeing and taking pictures without any restrictions. Overall my Dad and I were completely satisfied and happy :) Read more

Comfortable and well organized trip to Mukthinath

Traveled to Muktinath in November 2018 with parents and aunt. The trip (3D/2N) was organized by Lumle Holidays. Nipendra, the Operations Manager accompanied us personally to Mukthinath Mandir. We were received at Kathmandu airport and took different modes of transportation during our trip. The stay, travel and other arrangements were taken care perfectly and never even once there was a hiccup. Nipendra went above and beyond and helped us with everything. Right from the detailed mail for my initial inquiry, to the constant follow up messages till we reached our home (in Chennai), Nipendra made sure we were more than happy to choose Lumle Holidays. I was a bit nervous about the safety and health of my parents since it was cold (-4 degrees) and the travel might be tiresome. The itinerary along with Nipendra's guidance made sure we had a nice time throughout the trip. Do not think twice before booking with Lumle. Make sure you discuss all the plans and choose the one which is preferable. You will definitely get good guidance from Lumle Holidays. Read more
