“In our early years my husband and I would take sudden trips. No planning, no bookings. We just picked up a few items and left, crossing fingers that Providence would take care of us. And She did!

On one such trip to Goa, we sauntered off on a hired bike. At the end of a tiring day we stopped near an ancient temple. We could spot a huge, pink faced effigy staring at us. Intrigued, my husband and I stepped in to greet Narkasur, the pink demon who was being readied to be blown up on Diwali night. What a pity that this cute demon had to be stuffed with crackers. I felt, pink demons also need love!

That's one sweet memory my husband and I have of our early adventures. Quite aligned to the colour of love, which they say is pink ;). Holidays are more planned now. I truly miss the days when travel blogs consisted of mostly stories, and truth be told there are a lot of blogs that I’ve unfollowed because the planning/SEO content got to be too much and I was significantly less interested. Hopefully more of you guys will use this as an opportunity to return to your roots!

I miss those days so much, Allison. And honestly, I think we’ve reached a major moment in our industry. The SEO chickens are coming home to roost. Bloggers who staked their sites 100% on SEO and Pinterest and 0% on retaining a regular audience are realizing that an event like this can make their income disappear. Whereas personality-based bloggers still have an audience.
