The Canopy Tour is designed not only as an extreme adventure, but a way to enjoy nature without harming the environment. Our property boasts spectacular views of Herradura Bay and Island, and the Nicoya Gulf. Within the property, you will to see scarlet macaws, chestnut mandible toucans and whiteface monkeys in their natural environment. This property has 80 acres of land and 50% is protected by the government institution FONAFIFO.

The adventure starts on a 15-minute ride aboard our specially designed tractor. Once we reach the top of the mountain, our bilingual guides will explain -step by step- all the safety procedures you must follow to enjoy your Zip Line adventure, we then descend to the bottom via a series of zip lines, including 12 platforms and 10 cables with a total cable distance of 3.5 kilometers, among them longest cable in the area (2400 ft.) at the end we will greet you with fresh tropical fruits and cool water.

Along the way our professional photographers will capture the best pictures of your adventure, and will have them available for purchase at the end of the tour.

You will first start with the 2 hour zip line at the canopy of the rainforest. This adventure includes a 15 minute tractor ride up to the top of the mountain; you will then descend on a series of 12 platforms and 10 cables, including one of the longest in Costa Rica’s Central Pacific.

After the Zip Line it’s time to get on some horses! We have the best kept horses in the area- and once you get geared up and paired with your best friend for the next hours, it’s time to head for the mountains. You will ride for about 45 minutes to the top of the mountain, and then hike down to the waterfalls and natural swimming pools.

Your guide will have cold water for you. You will have about 30 minutes to enjoy swimming in a totally natural environment, before we return to base, where we will greet you with fresh tropical fruits

Orientation, Equipment, Safety Instructions... and a Tractor Ride...

The first step after arriving and checking in, is to be fitted with the necessary gear and equipment. You will be supplied with gloves, a helmet and a harness which will be adjusted and checked by the staff. After the safety instructions and gear fitting, the guides and instructors will give you all the explanations needed to stay safe and comfortable during the tour.

THE ADVENTURE BEGINS with a 15 minute ride to the top of the mountain aboard a custom designed tractor and trailer. You will see some excellent views of Los Sueños Marina, the town of Herradura and the pacific ocean.

When its time to get going, your guides will ensure that you are safely attached at all times, either to the tree and platform, or securely clipped onto the zipline. They also offer some friendly encouragement if you have any butterflies before letting go. Then soar like a bird (or maybe more like spider man?) above and through the forest canopy from one platform to the next.

Upside Down Zipline and Awesome Photo Opportunities

Upside down is OPTIONAL - can be done regular way.

If you are going to bring a camera or cell phone, please make sure that it is securly attached to your wrist or body so as not to drop it. If you do drop anything, it is unlikely that you will be able to recover it!

There are a couple of platforms where your photo will be taken by the guides or a photographer (including the cable that you can do upside-down if you want), and a cd or thumb drive of your group will be available for purchase.

The Monkey Mangrove , Crocodile , Zipline Canopy , Kayaking and Tortuga Island tours are all shared tours and the number of people may vary, but the service will always be personalized.

Will I be able to fit in the zipline canopy safety harness?

What is the maximum weight for the zipline tour?

There is no specific weight limit on the zipline canopy tours , our reference is 260 pounds, however, this depends on the harness size. The safety harness has a maximum circumference of 42” at the natural waistline (not at the hips, which is where we typically measure our jeans, and thus, tend to think that is our waistline). You find the natural waist by standing up straight and then bending to the left or the right until there’s a dip in your side. That dip is the natural waist - it’s typically around 1-2 inches above the belly button. If you measure 39” or less there, you will be fine to do the zipline.

What is the minimum age for kids to do Canopy tour?

Children must be 6 years of age or older to do the Los Sueños Canopy Zipline tour. Children must be 5 years of age or older to do the Aerial Tram & Canopy Zipline tour. There is no age limit for the Aerial Tram. All zipline canopy tours in Costa Rica determine their own guidelines.

Will we see animals on the [Manuel Antonio, Monkey Mangrove, Crocodile, ATV, Zipline, Carara, etc.], tour?

While we do not guarantee that you will see animals on any of the tours we offer, our tours have been designed to maximize your chances by putting you in the right place at the right time. The animals you might see on the tours we offer are wild. Although we make no direct promises, we enjoy a rich variety of wildlife in Costa Rica, so seeing animals and/or rare birds while you are in the rainforest is subject to the whims of nature. Tranopy Jaco offers a combination of a ride with the Aerial Tram and a zip-ling tour – here also known as Canopy tour. The areal is located just outside the beach town of Jacó, on the Central Pacific Coast. First, you start with the Aerial Tram. It is one of the most unique excursions in Costa Rica’s rainforest. About 18 gondolas offer a capacity up to 9 passengers and take you to a 30 minutes tour through the stunning nature of the pacific side. During the ride, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the tropical flora and fauna. Every gondola includes a bilingual (English/Spanish) naturalist guide who takes the passengers to the canopy and the rich ecosystem of Costa Rican pure forests.

Once you are on the roof the mountain you will find your way back down to the ground by gliding on 10 different cables over the treetops of our jungle, five of them over 200 meters long.
