AEROSMITH Announces Rescheduled Dates For 'Peace Out' Farewell Tour

AEROSMITH   has announced the rescheduled dates for the band's "Peace Out" farewell tour.

The trek will kick off on September 20 at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where the legendary Massachusetts rockers played at the start of last year's original run, and will include a return appearance at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The 41-date tour will conclude on February 26, 2025 at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York. Support on the trek will once again come from THE BLACK CROWES , who recently released their new album, "Happiness Bastards" .

AEROSMITH postponed the original "Peace Out" farewell tour dates after singer Steven Tyler suffered vocal cord damage in September 2023. The news came two weeks after AEROSMITH postponed six shows on the trek in order to allow Tyler time to recover from his injury.

When AEROSMITH announced the tour postponement, the band said in a statement: : "To our fans: Unfortunately, Steven 's vocal injury is more serious than initially thought. His doctor has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx which requires ongoing care.

"He is receiving the best medical treatment available to ensure his recovery is swift, but given the nature of a fracture, he is being told patience is essential. As a result, all the currently scheduled 'Peace Out' shows must be postponed to sometime in 2024, with new dates to be announced as soon as we know more."

Tyler said in an accompanying statement: "I am heartbroken to not be out there with AEROSMITH , my brothers and the incredible BLACK CROWES , rocking with the best fans in the world. I promise we will be back as soon as we can!"

AEROSMITH kicked off its "Peace Out" farewell on September 2, 2023 at the 21,000-capacity Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

AEROSMITH 's 18-song set opened with "Back In The Saddle" and included a cover of FLEETWOOD MAC 's "Stop Messin' Around" , before closing with a two-song encore of "Dream On" and "Walk This Way" .

Produced by Live Nation , the 40-date North American tour was scheduled to make stops at arenas across the U.S. and Canada, including Los Angeles's Kia Forum, New York's Madison Square Garden and Toronto's Scotiabank Arena, with a special stop in their hometown of Boston for New Year's Eve 2023.

The "Peace Out" run of dates was originally set to wrap on January 26, 2024 in Montreal. Special guests THE BLACK CROWES were joining AEROSMITH for the entire tour, which was to celebrate AEROSMITH 's five decades of music.

Prior to the launch of "Peace Out" , AEROSMITH wrapped its critically acclaimed Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM. Ahead of the residency, AEROSMITH returned to its hometown in Boston to perform a record-breaking one-off show at Fenway Park as part of the legendary band's 50th anniversary celebrations. With over 38,700 people in attendance, it was the most tickets sold to date for a show at the iconic venue.

In May 2022, AEROSMITH announced that Tyler had entered a treatment program following a relapse, prompting the band to put their Las Vegas residency on a temporary hold.

Tyler had been struggling with drug and alcohol addiction since the mid-1980s. Over the course of the last four decades, he had relapsed several times, including in the early 2000s and 2009.

About Aerosmith

Celebrating their 50th anniversary, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members Aerosmith have sold more than 150 million albums around the world, produced genre-defining music videos such as “Amazing,” “Crazy,” “Janie’s Got A Gun,” “Livin’ On The Edge,” and “Love In An Elevator,” and launched extravagant record-shattering global tours, most recently with their smash hit Las Vegas residency. The band has broken numerous boundaries, including becoming the first rock band with a massive commercially successful hip-hop collaboration with Run DMC on “Walk This Way” and the first hard rock band to appear during a Super Bowl Halftime Show with their 2001 performance, and in 1999, Aerosmith became the first band to have their own themed attraction at Disney World in Florida and later Paris with the launch of the Rock ‘N’ Roller coaster starring Aerosmith. For more information, visit Aerosmith.com .

About The Black Crowes

In 1990, when journalists were lamenting the death of rock, as cheesy pop and hair metal dominated the charts, Atlanta’s Black Crowes gave the genre a swift and much needed kick in the ass with Shake Your Money Maker . Fueled by singles “Jealous Again,” “Twice As Hard,” “She Talks To Angels,” and the break-through cover of Otis Redding’s “Hard To Handle,” the band immediately took the rock world by storm, topping Rolling Stone’s “Best New American Band Readers Poll” in late 1990. The Black Crowes went on to release eight studio and four live albums, selling in the tens of millions along the way; they sold out shows around the world; had legendary guitarist Jimmy Page join as a member; got kicked off a tour with ZZ Top for insulting the sponsor; got screwed by bad record deals; got married and divorced, fought amongst themselves and against the rest of the world. In other words, they’ve done everything a legendary rock group should do

Aerosmith farewell tour includes Buffalo show; tickets go on sale Friday

aerosmith tour buffalo

Aerosmith is hitting the road for the last time, and if you think they’re stopping in Rochester, dream on. (Sorry.)

On Monday, the legendary rock outfit announced dates for a farewell tour called Peace Out to mark 50-plus years. The 40-date run of shows starts Sept. 2 in Philadelphia and wraps up Jan. 26, 2024, in Montreal.

The closest Aersosmith will get to the Flower City is with a 7 p.m. show Tuesday, Jan. 16, at KeyBank Center in Buffalo. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, May 5, at Ticketmaster.com . Prices have not been announced.

Guitarist Joe Perry said other cities could be added before the tour ends.

“It’s the final farewell tour, but I have a feeling it will go on for a while,” he told the Associated Press. “But I don’t know how many times we’ll be coming back to the same cities. It could very possibly be the last time.”

Perry believes that the time to say goodbye is now, as every founding band member is over the age of 70. At 75, front man Steven Tyler is the oldest.

The band’s first decade produced such enduring singles as “Sweet Emotion” and “Dream On.” The ’80s saw a remake of “Walk This Way” with Run-D.M.C., followed by a slew of MTV hits (“Angel,” “Rag Doll,” “Love in an Elevator” and “Janie’s Got a Gun”). The ’90s brought “Livin’ on the Edge,” “Cryin’” and mega-ballad “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” from the “Armageddon” soundtrack.

Aerosmith entered this century with a continued presence on rock radio (“Jaded,” “Just Push Play” and “Legendary Child”), while retaining their status as one of rock and roll’s premiere live acts.

The last time they played Rochester was in 1998 at the Community War Memorial, by which point they had achieved rock veteran status.

During the mid-1980s, while staging a comeback after a period of turmoil, the band used the House of Guitars as a backdrop for a Rolling Stone magazine photo shoot.

Last year, the group postponed its Las Vegas shows when Tyler voluntarily checked himself into rehab after a drug relapse. The singer has also been the topic of a sexual assault lawsuit  from a relationship with a 16-year-old girl in the 1970s. He has denied the accusations .

About The Black Crowes

The Black Crowes are leaving the bullshit in the past. 15 years after their last album of original music, the Robinson

Brothers present Happiness Bastards - their 10th studio album. Some may say the project has been several

tumultuous years in the making, but we argue it's arriving at just the right time. Call it brotherly love or music destiny that brought them back together, the highly anticipated record consecrating the reunion of this legendary band just may be the thing that saves rock & roll. In a time where the art form is buried beneath the corporate sheen of its successors, The Black Crowes are biting back with the angst of words left unsaid penned on paper and electrified by guitar strings, revealing stripped, bare-boned rock & roll. No gloss, no glitter, just rhythm and blues at its very best - gritty, loud, and in your face. Since The Black Crowes reunited in 2019, they've made a triumphant return to form with over 150 shows spanning 20 countries worldwide, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Shake Your Money Maker, the album that put them on the map. The Robinson Brothers and longtime bassist Sven Pipien headed to the studio with producer Jay Joyce in early 2023 and the experiences of years past transcribed themself through the music as the band found their way back to their roots. And it's finally here - Happiness Bastards is out now.

Steven Tyler, Aerosmith announce rescheduled farewell concert tour: New dates and ticket info

Why did Aerosmith postpone their farewell tour?

After playing only a handful of concerts in September, the “Walk This Way” heroes had to hit pause after singer Steven Tyler damaged his vocal cords. He also fractured his larynx and was given doctor’s orders not to sing for 30 days.

But Aerosmith opted to give Tyler ample time to recuperate and scuttle all of their shows until 2024.

The wiry frontman known for his searing rock yowls, said at the time that the injury occurred at a Sept. 10 show in New York and that the vocal cord damage “led to subsequent bleeding.”

What songs can fans expect to hear at Aerosmith’s farewell shows?

USA TODAY was there for opening night of the Peace Out tour Sept. 3 in Philadelphia. As the tour is also a celebration of the band’s 50 years in the music industry, the setlist reflected their vast catalog.

The band – Tyler, guitarist Joe Perry, bassist Tom Hamilton and guitarist Brad Whitford, along with drummer John Douglas filling in for Joey Kramer – sounded in peak form for their deserved victory lap.

Songs ranged from singalong rock smashes “Livin’ on the Edge,” “Sweet Emotion” and “Rag Doll” to the rarely played album track “Adam’s Apple” and a dip into Aerosmith’s blues roots with “Hangman Jury.”
