It consists of ascending to 3000 ft and doing three 360° flybys at an inclination of 20° to have a panoramic view, followed by the descent. Will also travel around the Arenal Lagoon and its surroundings. At the return you will be able to see the canyon of the Arenal River with a depth of 1km, We conclude the tour over Chato Hill, the town of La Fortuna and important sites of the San Carlos plains. The Helicopter City Tour is a wonderful and enriching experience that passengers will appreciate since you not only enjoy panoramic views but also will learn about our history. Then we will proceed to take off towards the south sector of the capital. We will skirt the green mountains of Escazú, passing through the Peace Park, Curridabat, continuing towards the Ochomogo Pass destination to Cartago where you can see, among other attraction,s the ruins of the center of Cartago and the Basilica of Our Lady of Los Angeles. Finally we will return by the Pass of Coris to the airport having made a journey of approximately 30 minutes.

The Helicopter Tour to the Poás Volcano is one of our clients' favorite. It offers picturesque landscapes of the area and the impressive crater of the volcano. Then we will proceed to take off towards Alajuela, flying over the Juan Santamaría airport, we will see the Fraijanes area, its coffee plantations, the forests of Vara Blanca and finally the impressive Poás Volcano. Finally we will return to the airport having made a journey of 1 hour.

The Helicopter Tour to Doka Estate offers picturesque landscapes of the area. The tour is characterized by a journey full of verbal and graphic information and above all an educational experience about the culture that gave way to the Costa Rica that we know today. We will proceed to take off towards Alajuela, flying over the city, spotting coffee plantations and beautiful landscapes. Upon arrival at the farm, passengers will make a wonderful coffee tour and then enjoy a delicious lunch. Finally we will return to the airport having made a 30 minute tour.

The helicopter tour to La Paz Waterfalls offers views of picturesque landscapes of the area, coffee plantations and the town of Alajuela. Then we will proceed to take off towards San Miguel de Heredia, flying over the Botos Lagoon of the Poás Volcano, spotting coffee plantations and beautiful landscapes, as well as the majestic La Paz waterfalls. This tour is self-guided, that is, each one makes his or her own tour of the trails and visits the attractions offered by the property. At the end of the tour you will enjoy a delicious lunch at the restaurant of the falls. Finally we will return to the airport having made a journey of 42 minutes.

The Coopedota helicopter coffee tour offers views of picturesque landscapes of the area, coffee plantations and the town of San Marcos de Tarrazú. We take off from Tobías Bolaños Airport in Pavas to fly towards Desamparados and ascend towards the Santos Zone, in the South of the country and spotting the most famous coffee growing areas of Costa Rica. When you arrive in Dota, you will visit the benefit, environmental sustainability projects, the coffee toaster, then the tour of the Coopedota farm and finally a tasting in one of the best coffee shops in the world. Once the tour finished we returned to the airport having made a 36 minute tour.

The helicopter tour to Casa Turire offers views of picturesque landscapes of the area, crops and the town of Turrialba. Then we will proceed to take off towards east towards Cartago, which was the first capital of the country. You can see to the right the Poás Volcano, the second highest hill of Cosa Rica. Then you will appreciate beautiful landscapes of dairies, cattle and sugar cane. This tour consists of a welcome drink at Casa Turire. You will have the option to relax by the pool & jacuzzi, walk the trails, visit the working farm where the organic vegetable garden can be found, take a relaxing massage in our spa before a delicious lunch served by the garden terrace overlooking the gardens & pool area. The lunch includes a delicious selection from our a la carte menu (entrée, main dish & dessert) natural fruit drink o soft drink included. Finally we will return to the airport having made a 36 minute tour.

The Volcanoes Tour excels as one of the best tours in San José. It offers majestic and panoramic views of the surroundings from the Turrialba, Irazú and Poás Volcanoes. The adventure begins welcoming you in the hangar #6 at the Tobias Bolaños International Airport in Pavas, where you will be boarding the aircraft shortly. Our pilot will welcome you and will give you a lunch box with a snack and a beverage for you to enjoy during your flight. Then we will takeoff and fly East towards Cartago, through the Coris Passage and in our way to Turrialba, where you could enjoy the scenery ranging from cane crops, dairy farms, to the Angostura reservoir, and the majestic Turrialba Volcano. This all air non-stop tour departs from our base in Guardia, heading north into the tropical forest to Rincon De La Vieja National Park, home to several Volcanos including the Rincon De La Vieja Volcano with an elevation o 6217 ft. We see several waterfalls decorating the exuberant volcanic landscape. Depending on the weather a flyby around the impressive crater, returning along the coastline to enjoy the sights of our Papagayo Beach Tour before traversing agricultural lands enroute to base.

This premium tour departs from our base in Guardia, travels inland through the tropical rainforest past Arenal Lake to the spectacular Springs Resort and Spa located at the base of the Arenal Volcano. Reaching an elevation of 5437 feet, Arenal Volcano is the best known in the region and it is currently, active although there has been no major eruptions since 2010. Included in the tour price are the beautifully landscaped hot mineral springs, pools, waterfalls and lunch. Additional activities are available including ATV tours, Zip Lines, Rappelling, Rafting, etc. at an additional price. On the return leg the helicopter flies a more southerly route passing Llanos de Cortez Waterfall enroute to the base.

The dramatic contrast between stark lava fields and green forest

Rising from the surrounding lava fields, Arenal Volcano’s classic cone dominates the surrounding landscape and is visible for miles.

Last active in 2010, the stratovolcano erupted periodically since its initial 1968 eruption, which destroyed the village of Tabacón and laid out acres of lava fields.

The  Arenal Volcano National Park  encompasses nearly 30,000 acres set within the 504,094-acre Arenal Conservation Area. The Conservation Area includes 16 reserves between the Guanacaste and Tilarán mountain ranges.

Fly into Aeropuerto El Tanque in La Fortuna for an eagle-eyed view of the countryside. From San Jose, the flight only takes 20 minutes, with incredible views of the volcano on the way. When you land in Fortuna, the airport is just 20 minutes from the main hotels in Arenal.

But, if you’re a foodie who longs for authentic local fare, give these places a try:

El Novillo del Arenal  in El Castillo district of La Fortuna gets 4.5 stars, featuring steaks a la Central America. Also recommended: chicken with mushroom sauce. The bartender gets the mint for the mojitos from the garden outback.

La Ventanita.  This family-run restaurant is aptly named,  La Ventanita  means little window. What it lacks in size, it more than makes up for with the great flavors of its Central American menu and views of the volcano.

Rated no. 1 on TripAdvisor,  Spectacolar Cantina  is modestly priced. Everything is made fresh, right down to the tortillas. The ceviche and street tacos (try the pulled pork) get rave reviews.

Sodas  (not pop) are a frequent sight in Costa Rica and a great place to try an authentic Tico meal.  Soda Mima  in La Fortuna (a bit tricky to find, it’s at the end of an alleyway) gets high marks from diners.

Arenal National Park  has miles of hiking trails that circumnavigate the volcano and pass through old lava flows. The hikes take you through unique microclimates and highly adapted ecosystems. Be sure to hire a naturalist guide.

Lake Arenal , the largest lake in Costa Rica, is at the base of the volcano. Kayaks, paddleboards, and fishing and boat tours are good ways to explore the lake.

Whitewater rafting  on the Balsa River has Class II and III rapids, suitable for beginners, and is a 2-hour trip. The Sarapiqui’s Class III-IV rapids will challenge more advanced rafters.

Arenal Hanging Bridges , the Sky Trek, and the Sky Tram take visitors up through the canopy. Thrill-seekers can make the return journey from Miguel Angel Observatory via 4.5 miles of zipline.

And finally, last but certainly not least, are numerous hot springs in the area. There are a number of great little hot spring resorts to choose from. Some are stand-alone and some part of a hotel resort.

Tabacon Hot Springs  is the oldest, most well-established, and popular resort to spend your day and evening. With a full experience offering of restaurants, bars, hot and cold pools, waterfalls, a spa, and more, you can check in mid-morning, store your stuff in a locker, and enjoy the park for the day or evening, or both! Fully immersed in the jungle with winding rivers and pools at varying degrees of hot water, Tabacon is a must-do experience.

Eco Termales  is Arenal’s only “truly natural” hot springs. Not a hotel or resort, just a great place to spend a few hours of the day soaking up the thermal waters of varying degrees in the staggering pools. With a restaurant and bar, lounge chairs, and plenty of plunge pools, this special little resort feels rather exclusive as they only permit a certain amount of visitors at any given time. Reservations are a must so be sure to visit their website and book your space before your trip!
