Journeys Kitchen & Bar
Springfield
JOURNEYS KITCHEN AND BAR HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.
Journeys Kitchen and Bar is a lively modern family friendly café bar that sits perched above Orion Lagoon in Springfield Central.
Serving a varied menu of hearty breakfasts, lunches and sweet treats, as well as beer (including Journeys own lager on tap), wine by the glass or bottle, premium spirits, well-brewed Toby’s Estate coffee, tea and epic milkshake ‘towers’, Journeys is one of those rare places that suits everyone and hits the spot for any occasion.
Customers can pull up a seat inside or al fresco on the terrace where some of the tables have views across the lagoon. In one corner inside is a terrific children’s play area with giant wall blackboard, books and toys so parents and carers have the chance to relax.
Journeys serves a daily breakfast until 11am with dishes including Eggs Benedict, Vegetable Hash Cakes (a customer favourite), Breaky Tower Burger (vegetarian or ‘the works’) with fried egg, avo smash, hash brown, mixed greens and house-made BBQ sauce, Omelettes and Journeys Waffles (gluten-free waffles with bacon, roasted bananas, berries and ice-cream) or Avocado and Feta on toast.
For lunch there’s Burgers (Crispy chicken, vego, Double beef and bacon or delicious Pulled Pork) served with crispy waffle fries, a range of Stone-baked pizzas, Southern Style Chicken (buttermilk) with sweet potato wedges, coleslaw and tomato salsa), and salads including Vietnamese Chicken, Pork Belly (slow-cooked with grilled pineapple, capsicum, herb, miso and soy dressing) or Journeys Buddha Bowl (vegan).
Meanwhile kids have their own special Colour-in menu for breakfast or lunch.
Behind the counter Journeys also has some delicious baked treats including lemon meringue tarts, muffins, slices and macarons.
Need to know – Alcohol is available after 10am. There’s a small number of free car parking spaces directly outside Journeys. Breakfast bookings are essential on weekends to avoid lengthy waits.
Nice to Know – Journeys has room for prams and space for kids to play both in the special play corner and the sloped lawn outside. In the foyer of the building that Journeys is in the bas of there’s good clean amenities and a parents change room.
