Student groups can explore the Museum’s restored spaces, artifacts, aircraft collection and oral histories and exhibits, covering a range of educational subjects for a fun and engaging experience. 

Tickets are only valid for entry on the date and within the 30 minute time period indicated. Visitors must arrive at the time indicated on their ticket and will not be permitted to enter before their assigned time.

NYC Residents receive 50% off general Museum admission when presenting a valid government-issued photo ID with a printed address or a current utility or mortgage statement with an address within the five boroughs and a name that matches their photo ID. Discount is eligible for all those in qualifying households.

  • Aviator Grill: Head to the second floor of the Welcome Center for classic American fare at the Aviator Grill. This family-friendly restaurant features burgers, wraps, salads, and even customizable pizzas, all with a view overlooking Pier 86.
  • Intrepid Marketplace: Located on Intrepid's third deck, this spot offers a casual, New York-style menu with flatbread pizzas, submarine sandwiches, and fresh-baked goods. Note that this restaurant is only open to the members of the museum.
  • Pier Side Cafe: This seasonal cafe offers casual fare, perfect for grabbing a meal and enjoying the outdoor views of the Hudson River and the Intrepid aircraft carrier. It is located on Pier 86, where the Intrepid is docked.

  • Due to its popularity, lines for the Growler submarine experience fill up fast. To ensure you get to explore it, prioritize this exhibit early in your visit and avoid missing out by waiting until later.
  • The Museum has three virtual reality 4D film simulator experiences. These are not part of the regular tickets and cost an extra $11 per ride per visitor, which can be booked at the venue.
  • For the 4D Experience simulator, a height of 1 meter (40 inches) tall is required. For G-Force Encounter, the height requirement is 1.07 meters (42 inches) with an adult, and 1.22 meters (48 inches) without an adult.
  • The Intrepid Museum is a large facility, so you’ll be doing a lot of walking. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes to make your visit more enjoyable.
  • Coat check facilities are not available at the site. However there are locker facilities to store small bags. So bring smaller bags and only necessary things with you on your visit.
