Travel Republic Customer Service

Had an issue with my booking details. Travel Republic reached out to the agent to rectify the issue. Agent didn’t respond but Travel Republic escalated my concern and sorted it out for me before we left the UK. I was delighted with how Travel Republic dealt with my concern and we had a great holiday. There were 14 of us staying in different apartments in the same complex. Those of us who booked through Travel Republic definitely had superior apartments than those who booked through other well known companies. Will definitely book through Travel Republic again.

Best priced and easy transaction

Best priced and easy transaction for a last minute break. Only bit that was unclear was how to find my transfer desk, but this wasn’t any fault of TR, and more so the provider who didn’t seem to have any corporate ID other than that of their staff uniform but they were easy to miss.

On the ball!

Very informative, reminder emails with 24/7 contact details in case we had problems. Price competitive for the same break seen elsewhere. Not used Travel Republic before as I saw a poor review but now having used them will deffo use again next year.

Great till things go wrong

I booked a holiday with Travel Republic and when I arrived at the airport I found that the flight time had been changed months earlier to 6 hours later and travel republic hadn't told me. The airline showed me the email that they had sent to travel republic. When I complained on the day and through their formal complain procedure they continually blamed the airline and said they didn't receive the email. I accept that sometimes things go wrong, but all 4 people that I spoke to at travel republic were immediate on the defensive and blaming other people. The attitude is why i wont be using them again.

Excellent hotel

Holiday started badly because of Tui cancelled flight, missed a whole day of the break. Sadly Tui were awful, poor communication with inexperienced ground staff, lots of delays from Manchester. Transfers to and from the airport excellent takes approximately ten minutes into Cavtat. Excellent hotel, would highly recommend. No issues at all, friendly helpful staff, lovely breakfast. Gorgeous resort with excellent transport links for travelling around Croatia. Will definitely return in the future

Bad customer service, no accountability

We got to the accommodation with 2 children at around 2 in the morning to find out that the hotel did not have a booking for us. The hotel were accommodating and gave us a room for the night although we had to share 2 single beds. I contacted travel republic who spoke to the hotel and said they would be in contact with me again in the morning. The hotel upgraded us, however Travel republic did not contact me back until I emailed them asking what was happening from their side. This ordeal caused a lot of stress and anxiety to me and my wife at the start of the holiday. Since returning I have made a complaint to travel republic and just been advised that we were compensated by the hotel and they have not taken any accountability. I have asked my complaint to be escalated a week ago and tried to ring them with no response. I will not be using this company again and would not recommend. Very poor customer service throughout the experience.

Excellent experience…

Excellent experience from the moment we booked our holiday to when we returned. We were fully updated of flight time changes, and the seats picked for us on the flight there and back were very comfortable.

The room was fabulous

The room was fabulous, very clean. Great maid service lovely big bathroom and the room is large and spacious with fantastic air-conditioning. Lovely view of the mountains. My only disappointment was that the hotel let people go out very early morning put the towels on and then go back in four hours and don’t use their beds which I find extremely annoying and selfish. The hotel. Do not remove the towels on beds are allowed to be unused for hours on end. maybe as a hotel, they could take the towels off when people are not using their bed and let other people who do want beds use them.

This company is absolutely shocking! We booked a superior room in Madeira at the Santa Cruz Hotel and when we arrived the hotel announced that the hotel was full and gave us a room that beared no resemblance to the superior rooms the hotel was advertising! It was tiny!

Terrible customer service. Takes a long time to get through to a person on the phone only to be told to email… but no email provided in the booking or website. Didn’t refund any money even though the listed hotel services weren’t working/available. Do not book through them.

If I could leave a lower rating than 1…

If I could leave a lower rating than 1 I would. This is the worst company service I have ever had. I used the online cancelation service with Travel Republic to cancel my holiday booking as I had seen this cheaper elsewhere. They not only did not cancel my booking as instructed they told Emirates that the flights I had booked with them were correct and they should rebook them. I have been stressed about this due to the lack of due diligence and care from Travel Republic. When I complained about this I got an half hearted apology and told that if I'd called it would have worked. What a disappointing result and company.

Everything very straightforward

Making a claim with Travel Republic is painful.

I booked a holiday with Travel Republic for my family to Rhodes, our outgoing flight was with British Airways from Gatwick, I checked in online and arrived at the airport to drop my hold baggage with BA. However BA confirmed that no hold baggage was holding on my booking, so i was forced to pay again to put my one piece of luggage into the hold. I thought that this would have simply been an admin error and so upon returning to the UK i contacted Travel Republic thinking that my claim for the additional cost of hold luggage would be swift and easy. However it took over 60 days after raising the initial claim to even get a reply, to which they have dismissed my claim as BA told them i had two pieces of luggage and i had to pay for the second. However this did not happen. The next excuse from Travel Republic was that BA had told them that my cabin bag did not meet the requirements and this had to be placed in the hold. Again this did not happen. I have requested to see the correspondence between Travel Republic and BA and i am still waiting to even hear back since my last interaction with them over a month ago. What should of been a very simple claim has dragged on for over four months as i never hear back from the complaints team when i ask more questions, as i do not accept that i should of had to pay for my hold luggage twice due to Travel Republic not sending the information and monies over to BA. All i wanted was for Travel Republic to accept that there has been an error and to refund the monies i have had to pay out twice. The process of contacting Travel Republic to make a claim is painfully slow and frustrating. I have tried to explain what happened but i am consistently ignored or get the even more frustrating auto reply that my case is still being investigated. I just want the additional cost of having to pay twice for my hold baggage refunded.

Unfortunately we have not had a similar experience with customer service as those noting below. Customer service on a time sensitive matter is unacceptably slow. Support requests take 2 days for a response and in our experience did not address the issue in its entirety and therefore required follow up. trying to call customer service involved a 50 minute wait and again for the response to be generic and unhelpful and 'waiting to hear from the hotel'. At no point did it feel like our time sensitive issue was a priority which left us feeling stressed before flying out for our holiday. I has never experience such a long drawn out process of cancelling and changing hotel arrangements with the likes of booking.com so my advice would be go there and save the stress.

Reconsider travel to Niger due to risk of crime , civil unrest, terrorism , and kidnapping .

Violent crimes, such as armed robbery, are common.

Demonstrations, while generally peaceful, may become violent at any time and lead to civil unrest. 

Terrorist groups continue plotting kidnappings and possible attacks in Niger. Terrorists may attack with little or no warning, targeting foreign and local government facilities and areas frequented by Westerners. Terrorists operate in the areas bordering Mali, Libya, Burkina Faso, and throughout northern Niger. Avoid travel to Niger’s border regions, particularly the Malian border area, Diffa region, and the Lake Chad region. Mali-based extremist groups have crossed the border and conducted multiple lethal attacks on Nigerien security forces.
