Pentatonix Announces New, 25-Date Holiday Tour: 'We Couldn't Wait'

The holiday season is nearly here, and that can only mean one thing — Pentatonix is ready to spread some cheer!

The celebrated a cappella group announced the new Pentatonix: Hallelujah! It’s a Christmas Tour on Tuesday, Sept. 3, which will see them performing in 25 American cities.

"We know it's still summer... but we couldn't wait to share this with y'all!" the group wrote on Instagram .

This tour will be the biggest holiday tour yet for Pentatonix, who have released six Christmas albums and three holiday compilation albums since their debut in 2011.

The quintet — Scott Hoying , Mitch Grassi , Kirstin Maldonado , Kevin Olusola and Matt Sallee — will kick things off on Nov. 14 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. before wrapping in Dallas at American Airlines Center on Dec. 22.

Pentatonix released their latest holiday album, The Greatest Christmas Hits , last year, which included classics like “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “Carol of the Bells” and “Frosty the Snowman,” on which they featured Alessia Cara .

Last October, the group talked with PEOPLE about their love for the holiday season , and Olusola said he was excited to enjoy the festivities with his wife and daughter.

"One thing that my wife and I want to do is take Kaia, our daughter, to Beverly Hills because they do really beautiful lights and tinsel everywhere, that's my wife's favorite place to go," said Olusola. "This is [Kaia's] first Christmas where she can be really present with what Christmas can actually mean, and so I'm very, very excited for her to take that in."

Maldonado, meanwhile, said she loved her “mommy daughter time.”

"Eliana came on tour with us last year when she was 4½ months... but her awareness now is so much different, obviously a year later," she said. "I feel like doing a bunch of cute lights and family Christmas markets and things, trying to find those throughout tour when they're around would be so fun, making those memories on tour with her."

Tickets for the new tour go on sale Friday, Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. local time.

Iron Maiden founder Steve Harris is renowned for his love of football, and the risk of injury doesn't stop the bassist from playing football whenever he can, even when the band are on tour. When Maiden were promoting their Virtual XI  album in 1998, they  hosted a series of football matches  with fans and journalists.

Last week, ahead of Maiden's show at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, West Ham United fan Harris stepped onto the pitch to play in a charity game in the colours of local side Stirling Macedonia.  

"At 7:00 PM, the magic begins as the legendary Steve Harris of Iron Maiden steps onto the field with the Groupies XI, delivering a performance like you’ve never seen before," wrote the club on social media. "Under the lights of The Fortress, Harris will show a different side of his legendary talent, trading the stage for the pitch in what promises to be an extraordinary spectacle."

Harris did just that, scoring two goals and raising much-needed funds for DT38 , a foundation set up in the name of Dylan Tombides, a Perth-born footballer who was on the books of both Stirling Macedonia and West Ham. Tombide's life was taken by testicular cancer at the age of 20 in 2014, less than two years after making his first team debut for the Hammers. 

Local news cameras were on hand to film the action, capturing one of Harris's goals and interviewing him after the game.

“I just love playing football, any chance I get," the 68-year-old Harris told 9 News. “I’m not as quick as I was, of course. At my age, definitely not, so I dropped back to left-mid."

The next Iron Maiden show on the Australian leg of their current Future Past Tour is at the Entertainment Centre in Adelaide tomorrow night (September 4). A date in New Zealand follows, before the band head north for a run of shows in Japan prior to crossing the Pacific for performances in North and South America. Full dates below.

Iron Maiden kicked off The Future Past World Tour 2024 in Perth, Australia at RAC Arena on September 1. The British heavy metal legends have released an official tour video going behind-the-scenes of the show.

We can already hear the epic “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo.”

Trans-Siberian Orchestra just announced their 2024 ‘The Lost Christmas Eve Tour’ that will send them to arenas all over North America from mid-November through late December.

That includes stops at Albany, NY’s MVP Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 20, Buffalo, NY’s KeyBank Center on Wednesday, Dec. 4 and Newark, NJ’s Prudential Center on Friday, Dec. 20.

At all concerts, fans can expect to hear cuts from the group’s 2004 double album “The Lost Christmas Eve,” which features the iconic “Wizards in Winter” along with classics like “Christmas Canon Rock” and “Christmas Dreams.”

And, if you’ve never seen the unique ensemble IRL, Trans-Siberian Orchestra puts on a live show that is truly for everyone.

“The first show we did, back in 1999 in Philadelphia, I looked in the front row when we got out there, and I saw two grandparents in crocheted reindeer-themed sweaters, sitting right next to a big young guy in a Slayer hoodie, so that tells you everything,” TSO member  Al Pitrelli told USA Today .

“The Lost Christmas Eve”

Released on Oct. 12, 2004, “The Lost Christmas Eve” tells the story of an overworked businessman who finally makes time for his neglected son over the holiday season.

Made up of 23 tracks, the 74-minute record toys with Christmas music conventions — there’s a bit of jazz, some twinkly piano and soaring guitar solos — to create something wholly original.

If you’ve never listened (or it’s been 20 years since you last gave “TLCE” a spin), we recommend rocking out to “Faith Noel” or “Queen of the Winter Night;” more sensitive souls may appreciate the slower, softer “The Wisdom of Snow” or acoustic “O Come All Ye Faithful.”

Personally, we love the go for broke vocals in “For The Sake of Our Brother” most, but we guarantee each listener will find their own favorite tune. There’s a lot to like here.
