"Mammoth II" will be released on August 4 via BMG . The 10-track record was recorded at the legendary 5150 studio and was produced by Wolfgang 's friend and collaborator Michael "Elvis" Baskette .
Continuing the tradition of writing all of the songs and performing all of the instrumentation and vocals himself, Wolfgang set out to challenge himself to expand his sound beyond what people had already come to know him for. From the rocking opener "Right?" to BEATLES -esque fade on closer "Better Than You" , "Mammoth II" showcases the growth of Wolfgang as a songwriter, musician and especially vocalist. Songs like "Like A Pastime" , "Take A Bow" and "Waiting" are all sonically different from each other but unique to what mastermind Wolfgang Van Halen and MAMMOTH WVH is.
The debut single from "Mammoth II" was the upbeat rocker "Another Celebration At The End Of The World" . The music video for "Another Celebration At The End Of The World" is an 8:25 introduction to the MAMMOTH WVH live band. Picking up where the No. 1 single "Don't Back Down" music video left off, the video showcases a frustrated Wolfgang firing the other Wolfgangs from that video and replacing them with his live band featuring Frank Sidoris (guitars), Jon Jourdan (guitars), Ronnie Ficarro (bass) and Garrett Whitlock (drums). The video was directed by Gordy De St. Jeor .
MAMMOTH WVH 's debut album was released via Explorer1 Music Group / EX1 Records .
Featuring Wolfgang on vocals and all instruments, "Mammoth WVH" was met with positive reviews and topped Billboard 's Top Hard Rock Albums and Top Rock Albums charts.
MAMMOTH WVH 's first single, "Distance" , reached No. 1 on the MediaBase and BDS Active Rock Radio charts. A tribute to Wolfgang 's father, the song was not originally intended to be on MAMMOTH WVH 's debut album, but due to the overwhelming response to its accompanying video, which has been viewed over seven million times on YouTube , it was added as a bonus track. All of Wolfgang 's proceeds from "Distance" are being donated to Mr. Holland's Opus .
"Distance" is an open letter to Wolfgang 's father, declaring "no matter what the distance is, I will be with you." The video for the song is created from a collection of family home movies through the years and offers an inside look in to one of music's most notable personalities. Chronicling the family through the years, the video ends with a touching voicemail left from Eddie to his son.
In November 2020, Wolfgang confirmed that he asked his father for permission to use the MAMMOTH WVH band name for his solo project. MAMMOTH WVH is a nod to family history — Eddie and Alex Van Halen 's band was called MAMMOTH when singer David Lee Roth first joined it in 1974.
MAMMOTH WVH made its television debut in February 2021, performing "Distance" on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and running through an exclusive acoustic arrangement on "Today" .
Last November, MAMMOTH WVH released a digital deluxe edition of the debut album via EX1 Records . The new digital deluxe features the bonus track from the Japanese version of the album, "Talk & Walk" , as well as two previously unreleased tracks, "As Long As You're Not You" and "Goodbye" .

About Mammoth WVH:
With his solo band Mammoth WVH, Wolfgang Van Halen consistently challenges himself as a songwriter, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. After a monumental breakthrough - with a GRAMMY Award nomination for his first-ever single, #1 debuts on multiple charts, television performances, and sold out shows over a two-year span - Mammoth WVH's self-titled debut sent shockwaves through 21st century rock music.
Mammoth WVH bowed at #1 on the Billboard Independent Albums Chart, Top Hard Rock Albums Chart, and Top Rock Albums Chart in addition to crashing the Billboard 200 at #12. He notched two #1 one entries at Rock Radio with “Don't Back Down” and “Distance.” The latter also garnered a GRAMMY Award nomination in the category of “Best Rock Song.”
He appeared on The Howard Stern Show, NBC News TODAY, Jimmy Kimmel Live and on the cover of Guitar World where they dubbed him Guitarist Of The Year. Loudwire cited Mammoth WVH as one of “The 45 Best Rock + Metal Albums of 2021,” while Classic Rock rated it “4-out-of-5 stars” and People proclaimed, “With Mammoth WVH's head-banging tracks and personal lyrics, Wolfgang successfully introduces himself as his own person.”
The band supported Guns N' Roses in stadiums stateside and Alter Bridge in arenas across the pond, while also headlining coast-to-coast in North America. Not to mention, he lit up the stage at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts in London and Los Angeles at the invitation of Dave Grohl himself.
Instead of choosing to settle on his breakout success, he consciously tested himself to further develop his sound from every angle on his second full-length offering, Mammoth II [BMG]. Coming out swinging, the hooks hit harder, the riffs roar louder, and the lyrics cut deeper as he delivers an urgent, undeniable, and unforgettable 10-song body of work.

With his solo band Mammoth WVH, Wolfgang Van Halen consistently challenges himself as a songwriter, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. After a monumental breakthrough – with a GRAMMY® Award nomination for his first-ever single, #1 debuts on multiple charts, television performances, and sold out shows over a two-year span – Mammoth WVH’s self-titled debut sent shockwaves through 21 st century rock music.
Mammoth WVH bowed at #1 on the Billboard Independent Albums Chart, Top Hard Rock Albums Chart, and Top Rock Albums Chart in addition to crashing the Billboard 200 at #12. He notched two #1 one entries at Rock Radio with “Don’t Back Down” and “Distance.” The latter also garnered a GRAMMY® Award nomination in the category of “Best Rock Song . ” He appeared on The Howard Stern Show , NBC News TODAY , Jimmy Kimmel Live and on the cover of Guitar World where they dubbed him Guitarist Of The Year. Loudwire cited Mammoth WVH as one of “The 45 Best Rock + Metal Albums of 2021 , ” while Classic Rock rated it “4-out-of-5 stars” and People proclaimed, “With Mammoth WVH’s head-banging tracks and personal lyrics, Wolfgang successfully introduces himself as his own person . ” The band supported Guns N’ Roses in stadiums stateside and Alter Bridge in arenas across the pond, while also headlining coast-to-coast in North America.

Wolfgang Van Halen Adds Dozens of 2024 Dates in Support of ‘Mammoth II’ Album
Wolfgang Van Halen (Photo: Travis Shinn; used with permission)
Wolfgang Van Halen has added dozens of 2024 headlining dates to his busy concert schedule as he continues to promote his second album, recording as Mammoth WVH. The new LP, Mammoth II , arrived Aug. 4, 2023, via BMG. The musician turned 32 on March 16. The 10-track album was recorded at the legendary 5150 studio, and produced by friend and collaborator Michael “Elvis” Baskette. The son of Eddie Van Halen and Valerie Bertinelli got married to Andraia Allsop at their home in Los Angeles on October 15.
From the March 22 album announcement: Continuing the tradition of writing all of the songs and performing all of the instrumentation and vocals himself, Wolfgang Van Halen set out to challenge himself to expand his sound beyond what people had already come to know him for.
The debut single from Mammoth II was the upbeat rocker “Another Celebration at the End of the World.” “The song showcases what people can expect from the new album. It is a high-energy rocker with some fun guitar moments on it. I also pushed myself vocally and it is a song I can’t wait to get out and play live. I can see it being a fixture in our live set moving forward,” he explains.
Watch him perform the song up close in 2023
The music video for the track is an 8:25 introduction to the Mammoth WVH live band. It showcases a frustrated Wolfgang firing “other” Wolfgangs and replacing them with his live band featuring Frank Sidoris (guitars), Jon Jourdan (guitars), Ronnie Ficarro (Bass) and Garrett Whitlock (drums). The video was directed by Gordy De St. Jeor.
Mammoth WVH is touring around the globe in support of Mammoth II . They’ll be making various festival appearances around the globe as well as headline stops going in to 2024.
“I’m Alright” is a favorite, a rocker featuring a driving drumbeat, a hypnotic piano riff and a blistering guitar solo that features his uncle – Patrick Bertinelli – on wah pedal operation.

Mammoth WVH’s first tour in 2023 was a massive success (and is still going strong), spurring the announcement of the upcoming Mammoth II 2024 tour in support of Mammoth II . The first leg of the tour will start on February 21 at Red Flag in St. Louis, Missouri and end on March 10 at Empire Live in Albany, New York. The second leg of the tour will kick off on May 4 at Wind Creek Event Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and come to a close on May 17 at Mercury Ballroom in Lousiville, Kentucky.
The band is also scheduled to support Metallica, Slash, and Foo Fighters on their respective tours in 2024 as well. It’s going to be a busy year for Mammoth WVH!
In the tour’s press release, Van Halen noted how much the headline tour as well as the upcoming supporting tours mean to him and the band. “2023 has been an amazing year and 2024 is shaping up to be even busier,” said Van Halen, “To be able to headline more shows with Nita Strauss and then having Intervals join us later is so exciting. I am honored that I get to return to that incredible Metallica stage as well as reunite with Dave Grohl and the guys in the Foo Fighters. I can’t wait to see everyone next year.”
Presale tickets for most of the tour dates in 2024 will be available via the band’s website and Ticketmaster . Fans with presale codes will be able to snatch earlier tickets on December 5 and December 6 (for the New Haven, Connecticut show, respectively) at 10:00 am local time.

Emerged as a solo project, it fuses Wolfgang Van Halen’s multifaceted musicianship with a deeply personal artistic vision. The band’s newest album is a follow-up to their acclaimed self-titled debut and showcases a matured sound palette, blending melodic hard rock with introspective lyricism.
Their upcoming Mammoth II Tour promises not just a showcase of the new album but also a live experience that encapsulates the energy and emotion intrinsic to Mammoth WVH’s music.

Wolfgang Van Halen Announces 2024 Tour with Mammoth WVH
Wolfgang Van Halen – Author Anne Erickson, photo by Travis Shinn
Wolfgang Van Halen and his band Mammoth WVH are riding high on a successful year. Wolfgang released his sophomore album with Mammoth WVH, “Mammoth II,” in August, and he’s been on the road in support of the release. He also got married to his longtime girlfriend, Andraia Allsop, this year, so it’s been a banner year for the son of Eddie Van Halen. Now, Mammoth WVH and Wolfgang Van Halen tour dates are here for 2024.
Mammoth WVH are coming up on the final four shows of their 2023, and they’ll pick it all back up again in February. Wolfgang’s new run will kick off Feb. 21, 2024, in XXX and run through a March 10 stop in Albany, New York. Special guest Nita Strauss will open on that run. The second leg of the tour will kick off May 4 and run through May 17 with rock band Intervals opening.
Tickets for all of the newly-announced show go on-sale to the general public starting on Friday (Dec. 8) at 10 a.m. local time. For information on VIP packages and other tickets, visit Mammothwvh.com .
“2023 has been an amazing year and 2024 is shaping up to be even busier,” Wolfgang said in a statement. “To be able to headline more shows with Nita Strauss and then having Intervals join us later is so exciting. I am honored that I get to return to that incredible Metallica stage as well as reunite with Dave Grohl and the guys in the Foo Fighters. I can’t wait to see everyone next year.”
Wolfgang Van Halen was recently named Audio Ink Radio’s Artist of the Year for 2023, thanks to his success with Mammoth WVH and their latest album. In a previous interview with Audio Ink Radio, he talked about how his dad, Eddie Van Halen, was always very impressed with him. “He cheered me on in everything, from me playing soccer to, gosh, this one time where I threw a pumpkin at a teacher who was mean to me in kindergarten, he told me to not miss the next time! (Laughs)” he said. He added, “It was one of those little pumpkins. It wasn’t a big one. But, he just cheered me on in literally everything, and he couldn’t have been happier with the music. He was the only other person who had all the ideas on his phone, other than me. He even had stuff that kind of hit the cutting room floor that’ll probably show up on another album or something. So, he was definitely the proudest parent.”
