Cleveland State University Launches 11 New Integrated Degree Programs to Equip Students to Lead in an Evolving Workforce
Csu also replacing current general education curriculum with enhanced inquiry core curriculum.
Cleveland State University (CSU) is proud to be the first institution of higher education in Northeast Ohio to offer 11 new interdisciplinary degrees designed to empower undergraduate students with the skills, versatility and adaptability they need to work at the intersection of multiple disciplines or fields.
These degree programs, which have been approved by the Ohio Department of Higher Education and the Higher Learning Commission, are neither dual degrees nor double majors. Rather, they are true integrated degrees that will equip students with the multidisciplinary skills required to lead and excel in an ever-evolving workforce. They include: 1. BA in Criminology and Journalism, Integrated 2. BA in Design and Psychology, Integrated 3. BA in Economics and Mathematics/Statistics, Integrated 4. BA in English and Computer Science, Integrated 5. BA in Sociology and Journalism, Integrated 6. BS in Computer Science and Design, Integrated 7. BS in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, Integrated 8. BS in Computer Science and Music, Integrated 9. BS in Computer Science and Physics, Integrated 10. BS in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering, Integrated 11. BS in Psychology and Criminology, Integrated
In addition to these integrated degrees, the University is introducing a new Inquiry Core Curriculum so that students entering CSU will learn how to explore probing questions, examine their own big ideas and dig into specific interests from day one of their college career. The Inquiry Core will replace Cleveland State's current general education curriculum.
“We are CSU, and we are excited to be at the forefront of developing academic programs that both address the evolving needs of the workforce and redefine the future of education for our students,” said CSU Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Nigamanth Sridhar, Ph.D. “No other institution in the region offers this pathway to success. Our integrated degree programs embody our commitment to ensuring our graduates are not just prepared for the changing nature of work, but also empowered to lead and innovate in their careers.’”
