The TA travel plaza serves thousands if not 10's of thousands right off the 95 corridor. They have a bus stop for New York at this location. A terminal for trucks and patrolled parking lot for car passengers needing a break from road travel. The other location is in Jessup, MD. The last time I was here, I was not impressed. Partly due to the customer service as well as the facilities. The female restroom was being used for the men due to the mens room being out of order, and the one handicapped shower bathroom is the only option available for women. So I was doubly impacted. So. I came in to take care of business in Baltimore, however check in at my AirBnB wasn't until later. I had just driven up. In spite of the rest room issue, I was too tired and really needed to freshen up before my business in Baltimore. The first person I interacted with, Mr. Mitch, was efficient, courteous and professional. Before I knew it, I was grabbing my bags and in the shower. No wait. Mr. Henry and Ms. Erica were my "porters". They ensure you have a clean shower, get extra toiletry items, etc. Very attentive and detail oriented professionals. Afterwards, Ms. Ashley and Mr. Mitch answered all my questions candidly and succinctly with none of that IDK action that you more frequently find in the customer service/hotel/travel industry. Can't forget Mr. Justin. He went the extra mile and salted the pavement after I mentioned that it wasn't done in the handicapped area and maintained the snack area--multi-talented. I found out the some of the staff and manager were fairly new. Well let's hope I can give them 5 stars when I get back...yeah, did I mention this was all happening during inclement weather? This time I was impressed with the customer service. Next time, hopefully they'll hire better outside contractors who will do a better job on maintaining the pavement instead of having staff having to follow up. The business I had was postponed due to the weather and is being rescheduled. I'm sure I will check back for other improvements. I'm optimistic.
First to Laurence J. - Thank you for your service to our country, but the word race doesn't belong in a review unless you are there to see Nascar. Just saying, maybe you are black or Korean or whatever but still shouldn't be there. I have only been to this place a couple times and yes it's incredibly crowded ( as others have said only game in town and right next to 95 ), and yes it's very run down and dirty. Now as a trucker I have to blame mostly truckers for a dirty truck stop. That's the fault of slobs who litter and piss where you live and eat and sleep. But employees are good and not so good. Met another trucker who walked into town with me for a meal and a beer. Yes it was nice to know he was carrying because let's face it you don't feel very safe there. That's why they have razor wire and patrol. Very sorry that Baltimore is that way. Peace everyone.
Well this was not our most enjoyable hotel stay ever. But it's a truck stop hotel so I should not have expected much. Checked into out first room and it's on a half smoking floor... gross! Started doing my room inspection, the room Had cigarette burns all over the carpet, some old worn out comforter and matching pillow set from the 90s, stains on the walls, floors and ceiling. And to top it off, even came with hair, black hairs EVERYWHERE. I was just going to deal with it: so I called down to the front and asked for new sheets to be brought up. But that was a no go. We ended up changing rooms. Next one was a little better. Still stains on the carpets, dirty walls, different comforter but equally as worn out as the last one. Sheets are thin and pilling. Low quality. Left better putting a towel down on the bed before I laid down, had to pull hairs out of the towel before I could use it. The only plus I found to this hotel was one staff member TEONNA. She tried her best to make me happy at the hotel. And greeted us the next morning with a big smile and a good morning. I wish I could give her 5 stars just for that. At the restaurant the server named Charlotte, a Very nice lady. Attentive and kind. Had lunch with her and breakfast the next morning, I would eat every meal with Charlotte if we were in town, she is just that wonderful. The girl working the dinner shift just looked annoyed in general. Didn't want to be there, could careless kind of attitude. We sat down for maybe 5+ mins and didn't even acknowledge us. Ended up just helping myself to the salad bar then she finally came over and took our drink order...

Don't expect to find any parking unless your bobtail, there was trash all over this truck stop but what can you expect it's in Baltimore and you really don't have many options of truck stops in the area or none at all, this TA is getting a little better but still need more work on improvements.
Absolutely trash been waiting two days just for tires to be changed keep getting the run around saying they will call me in soon an never do go somewhere else if you need servise done
Ignorant workers that disrespect professional drivers. Do not go here by any means. I tried to get a shower and they kept telling me to wait. Then I checked the showers, and they were all empty. They will let you stand there for 20 minutes and just stare at you. If you have even the slightest dignity, never go here.
Sorry, but this is necessary. Tonight I was disrespected as a veteran because the loud boisterous young lady behind the counter didn't understand why military veterans get discounts or AAA customers get discounts. Her comments really were a testament to her ignorance. It is people like her who make the race look bad. She was so adamant about her opinion on it that she was in a argument with the other employee who was attempting to get her to understand that she is at TA to work a job for TA not share her lowbrow opinion. I've served this country honorably for 29 years of my life.
Great, clean, and efficient truck stop. Interactive and friendly staff Fuel, eat, and go
This is by far the worst Truck stop in the country . I have a tire that came off the beed !and those clowns Don't have the tools to take my tire off . Disgusted!! How in the world a multi million dollars company that's in the business of repairing trucks and replacing tires . Don't have an tool to take a tire off, granted my size is 265/70/19.5 , Smaller size! but come on ta they are all over the country . Oh! by the way u would think I learn my lesson from the first time smh . Yup!! This my second time in one year I came here to change a tire four months ago. both times they turn me away because they unprepared.. to all car carrier with 19.5 tires on they trailer, don't even bother stoping at the ta in Baltimore ! U better off going to McCarthy tire 9 mins away . .
Not the cleanest or best maintained TA I've been to. But I have seen much worse. I'm here when I do a certain run from time to time. TIP: Fuel your truck before you park for your break. Put at least 50 gallons and save the receipt. This is one that charges for parking unless you buy fuel or spend $20 in the store or restaurant.
