returned it, however the mechanic checked it and was able to smoothly resolve it and saved us a damage bill. Very fair and decent people helped us. Thanks

mice and several drawers had mouse droppings. I contacted customer service the next day and they suggested buying mouse traps (which we did). We didn't catch any of the mice yet noticed additional mouse dropping in other drawers. This was very unnerving for my wife and kids. After returning the RV, we did receive credit for the mouse traps but were told any additional credits would have to come from corporate. I contacted corporate and they responded via email on Aug 27 with an apology for my inconvenience. They refunded (only) $55 to my credit card and gave me a $75 voucher for a future RV rental. I doubt I will use the voucher due to our bad vacation experience.

very mechanically inclined and fixes most things in our house himself. He spent several hours on the phone with "technical support" and could not get heater to work. Tanya's response was "Is it even cold enough to need heather?" The dog's water froze outside over night!!! We were told we could get a $200 refund. We did not. When we got there she and another guy came over and got heater to work. So therefore we weren't entitled to $200 refund! It didn't work when we were camping and my husband wasted 1/2 day on phone with their "support" and couldn't get it running. An overall terrible experience! Would NEVER use them again and would advise others to avoid them at all costs!

available or if the check engine light can be reset, and she said NO, and if I refuse the rental, they will charge the deposit. 1b. That check engine light is STILL ON when I returned the vehicle, after 3,700 miles. 2. Toilet paper holder fell off the wall in the first ten miles of driving. (Also...no TP in that holder) 3. Wall Trim behind driver's seat came loose/flopped around within first 100 miles of driving 4. Table mounting bracket (converting from dinette/banquette to bed) was bent/in poor condition, and made making the bed/table an ordeal each evening and morning 5. Very first night camping - microwave won't heat food and snaps the circuit breaker within two minutes of cooking. This didn't get fixed for THREE DAYS because there was no service area between Indiana (first stop) and Colorado. 6. The cover for the water heater/gas stove disappeared in Iowa somewhere along I-80. Also not repaired until I took it to service in Frederick. Oh, and Frederick personnel where quite upset on my behalf...or at least acted like it. They said the condition of the RV warranted 'an email to corporate' from them. Maybe they sent one, maybe they didn't. 7. Had to drive the unit to Frederick, CO for service to repair the worst issues - an ~80+mile round trip out-of-my-way/wasted a day getting service. While I appreciate very much what Frederick did to make the RV usable - especially replacing the microwave (check engine light wasn't repaired by Frederick) They charged me full price for an RV with 90,000 HARD miles on it, and refused to assist me at pickup, or for three days. Which, actually probably helped me ID all the sh* that was wrong with it. Finally, on turn-in, they gave me an email, [email protected] to inquire about "consideration" for all the things that went wrong. I tried that - zero response. I guess if you treat your customers bad enough, eventually they'll just go away.

for cruise America and the walked us through the heat not working. After an hour and a half, the technician was stumped. The propane in the unit (oven) was working even though it was turned off at the source. However the heater was still not working. We were directed to a local mechanic. After 3.5 hours of him taking the unit apart and putting it pack together he shared with us that the unit had been tampered/serviced prior to him opening it up. He could tell by the fingerprints in the dust but the unit was unrepairable according to him. He gave us a space heater and sent us on our way. As we moved into Utah and Colorado from LA we started to smell propane. We called the helpline once again. The call was two fold, first because the windshield washer fluid wasn't working (in snowy conditions) and because of the smell of propane. We told the helpline about the smell of propane (ad headaches it was causing) and they told us that our only choice was to keep driving. As far as the windshield; they said to throw water on it from a cup as we were driving to clean it off - you can't make this up. We finally figured out that the windshield washer fluid was filled with ONLY water by the LA location - very dangerous! AND after fighting with Cruise America for the last 6+ months about forcing us to drive with a propane leak for 500+ miles they offered us a gift card. Extremely insulting. Come to find out, Cruise America replaced the heater in our vehicle after we returned it. We also stayed in hotel rooms for the last two nights of our events rental due to the propane smell (cruise America, in their terms states they will not reimburse you if you don't have heat or a/c - however their terms say nothing about your safety if your RV is leaking propane into the cab). Don't risk it, DO NOT rent w Cruise America. They ONLY care about the bottom line. You the customer are 100% not their concern, your money however is. Just know it!

no brake fluid. What rental company rents a vehicle without adequately inspecting its brakes? This should be illegal as it not only put my family's lives at risk but that of everyone else on the road. Maybe just one oversight? No... they sent us out with a bad battery so we could not run any of the amenities we paid for without a full hookup site. The monitor to check batter/water levels didn't work. They also sent us out with full black and gray water tanks so I got to begin my vacation by flushing out someone else's poo and cleaning the shower that had flooded with gray water the first time we went up a hill. Funny that they would charge your for returning it full but accept no responsibility for sending it out full. Is that all? No... their customer service team repeatedly told us they would look into service options and call us back only to often never call back. When we call back, I find they are all part time staff from a third party company who rotate shifts without passing along notes. So.. basically wasted hours upon hours trying to get basic issues resolved with their outsourced support line. When I finally did have to extend the rental, due to the many troubleshooting stops we had to make, they told me they could not because it was "grounded for being past its service life". They knew how many miles we were going and still rented us a vehicle that would exceed its service range. There are lots of private RV rental services out there. If you are selecting cruise America because you trust their service, support, or reputation - don't. Its unsafe, unsanitary, and very clear that they have 0 concern for their clients.

Carson, California. Cruise America has no flexibility They made us pay for 10 days worth of RV use even though we only used it for six. They charged us a $750 drop off fee because it was a one-way rental. The Rv had issues. The tire pressure warning was almost constantly on, the drawers kept coming open while we were dricing, the black water and Grey water were registering in reverse and the handle for the Grey water broke off. When we turned in the RV they charged us $300 because a rock made a minor crack in the windshield. While my husband was calling the main # about being charged, the nasty manager, Judy, who helped us check the rv in, rushed us out of the rv, and took $300 out of our deposit. When we reported this to our auto insurance they were surprised they did that and not allow us to file a claim. We would never rent from them again. I would give them 2 stars but due to Judy's nasty attitude they get a 1 star.0

we were going to be off grid for a week, and is we hadn't discovered these problem before we were "off grid" it would have been a terrible week without these things. I also made sure to fill up the propane before we left... this is something I didn't feel I should have to do. You can't just get someone to refill your RV propane tank. I think I'll not use this company again. I also posted this on Facebook, and curiously, I don't see my post on their FB page. They must review posts and only publish the good stuff.

and next day morning before loading the RV we cleaned one more time and we saw a roaches crawling out of the seat. We called the Cruise America Kenvil people and told them we saw a roaches, for that he mentioned you can get an insect bomb and leave it for 5 hours. First of all, I didn't expect that response, it was as if I was supposed to expect a roaches in the truck. Then we also called the main customer service and after explaining, they told me I can get it back to the place and refund will be a discussion between me and the cruise America people. We did try to get that insect bomb which he suggested and left it over night thinking it might have been only one . Next day morning we saw another in behind the driver seat. We called them that we are bringing the rv back and he said okay. When we got it back he said he cannot just take the RV back like that. then he called the main office Arizona and then he said you can leave the RV but we will not give any refund. he handed over the phone to some woman from main branch and she was so inconsiderate. She simply said leave the rv and no refund. worst was when we say something she just keeps quite and then just repeat the same thing again. This is the worst experience ever. its soo much financial lose for us. The thing which hurt most was their carefree attitude, and NO accountability at all. On the worst part, the truck which we got, looked super old model like the tires makes a very squeaky noise when you turn. I am not sure if that's normal with RV trucks as this was my very first one , so don't have anything to compare with.

human hair under the mattress. After correcting my contact information, Fairfield sent drop off info to the wrong number, final invoice to the wrong email, then got quite snippy because we did not follow the directions that we never received. When trying to resolve the issue, the Fairfield representative became frustrated, said she was hanging up, oddly had the correct phone to text me a message to contact her supervisor but refused to give me her superviser's number. If you choose Cruise America, pick up in a different city!!

we don't need to send you them and they will only do it if they feel like it? What kind of "company" talks like this to people? to CUSTOMERS? Very disrespectful and rude. They will try to scam you! Will never ever book with this entire company ever again and will never recommend anyone to get from them either and they just lost a very valuable customer.

3: Another flat tire (different tire) same valve stem issue. I called customer service for a repair and had to call back 90 minutes later because ....crickets. They then said there wasn't someone within 100 miles who could help. i was driving across the country with my family and didn't even know where exactly I was but Google helped me find someone within 10 minutes. I paid over $4,000 dollars for this nightmare of an experience so when I sent in my formal complaint, I also asked for half of my money back. They acknowledged it's was their fault, offered me $119.00 refund (a single day's rental) and a $75 gift card for my next rental.... i'm not sure which is more ridiculous... their incredibly insincere offer or the thought that I would ever rent from them again.

hours later we finally were able to load up. The noise level while driving was horrible, could not hold a conversation, the black water and gray water sensors were never reading correctly, never knew what level they were at, was told when I returned it "oh they never work correctly" I spent hours flushing both tanks. Besides the filth, noise and tanks, the steering was very loose spent 20 hours driving constantly correcting lane position. At our campsite we turned on the AC, it was so loud, shut it off to sleep, woke up an hour later sweating, turned on AC on, woke everyone up couldn't sleep while it was running, so loud. Cut vacation short couldn't stand it.

first day. I called time after time after time after time to customer service and they said it was my responsibility to take it to the shop. For a 10 day trip and the fact that I had to charge the trailer with my truck so my 8 month old baby can stay warm is despicable. Horrendous customer service and I won't be renting from them again. Not only that, after I submitted a complaint to get some help from them, the representative told me that stories like mine are perfect for their company to share within themselves so that hopefully they can become better. So let's rent someone something, knowing it's bad, and then let's learn from it. Above all else, where we camped, other campers had Cruise America RV's, and their doors weren't working, lights, batteries, windows, horrible. One of them had to climb out of the window in the snow because their door wouldn't work. Unreal. Stay away from them and pay $10-$20 more somewhere else for a better experience.

a room full of people who had been waiting 3 hours to pick up their truck. This is unacceptable, under any conditions. Their system was only down for about 1.5 hours but people still couldn't leave with their trucks because the trucks they had rented hadn't been turned in by the previous users...unacceptable. It's a reservation, both from a truck reserve standpoint and a appointment standpoint. The truck was fine but showing its age. Some panels were coming loose, an air vent handle broke off in my hands, the black water sensor is stuck at 2/3 full, the tire sensor alarms was going off any time we started up the truck, and the exterior had quite a bit of damage all over. We really had to take our time with the walk around. We were comped for the black water dump and any interior cleaning. We will not use Cruise America again. I know it's a bargain solution but it's unnecessary to go THIS bargain. When can you remember the last time a holiday went exactly as planned?

AS A CHOICE FOR RV TRAVEL.I am tired and sore and frustrated. This was not the vacation we envisioned. This truck needs new shocks at the very least. Notice I said TRUCK. IT DROVE LIKE A BATTERED UHAUL MOVING TRUCK.It is LOUD AND NOISY AND JUST AWFUL. Spend the extra dollars and get a REAL RV...I promise you will thank me for this sound advice. It had issues from day one. The fridge took 24 hours to get cold. Had to get a cooler in the interim. The generator is so loud you can't hear anything else. The bathroom smells. Only one burner worked on the stove. The microwave rattled and moved around. The drawers and bathroom door flew open with every turn! We spoke to other cruise and abuse RVers on the road and they agreed...NEVER AGAIN! ALL Cruise America RV Rentals are the same. Just HORRIBLE BOXES ON WHEELS. We did NOT rent from Carson location.
