Alexandra Palace is one of the most iconic destinations in London and attracts visitors from all over the globe. It has everything that you would need to host an event while also serving as a great spot to spend the day relaxing and enjoying the company of friends and family. What’s more, you can also get an amazing panoramic view of London city from here, making it a popular destination to watch the sunset.
People on London private tours choose to visit Alexandra Palace because of its rich culture and heritage that no other destination in the city can offer. The palace was opened to the public in the year 1873 as an entertainment venue for Victorian London. The Ally Pally here has been a popular center of music concerts, sports, and other events for more than 145 years now. It was even featured in the first regular TV broadcast by the BBC in the year 1936. Regarded as the “People’s Palace”, the venue has also received many awards for hosting several live music, cultural, sports, and leisure events.
The 7-acre Alexandra Palace sits in a 196-acre park where more than 250 live events are hosted every year. Over 3 million people from all around the world visit the Palace each year to enjoy the events as well as relish in one of the best views of London around. The venue has an ice-rink that is open year-round as well as a boating lake, a pitch and putt course, a pub and restaurant, and around 1500 free parking spaces. This makes Alexandra Palace an excellent destination for people of all ages and tastes.
The Victorian Theatre here was renovated recently and was opened to the public in December 2018. It opened its doors for the first time in around 80 years with great music, comedy shows, and theatre performances. People on private London tours can now explore the eclectic spirit of the Victorians by paying a visit to the theater.

Theatre Tours
The story of Alexandra Palace Theatre is truly unique. Opened in 1875, the Theatre was a place of spectacle and delight where audiences of up to 3,000 people were entertained by pantomime, opera, drama and ballet. It then went on to be used as a cinema, a chapel and the home of music hall stars before a spell as a BBC prop store and workshop.
Now, 80 years after the doors to the Theatre were closed to the public, it is once again filled with the sound of music, laughter and applause. In December 2018 we reopened the Theatre following the completion of the East Wing Restoration project – ready to be discovered by a new generation.
