Can I cancel my Travel Republic Booking?

Do you have to cancel your Travel Republic booking?

Yes, you can cancel your booking but you are not guaranteed any refund for the money you spent in making the original reservation. Because most people choose to pay the low deposit choice Travel Republic offers, they must make their accommodation bookings at least 15 days prior to departure; and the remaining balance on these discounted rooms is due 14 days prior to departure, and is non-refundable. Some hotels require the full payment at the time of booking if it is a discounted deal and are therefore also not refundable. In addition to keeping your deposit, you have to pay a cancellation charge of £40. 

With the exception of the aforementioned discounted non-refundable hotel rates, the following charges will apply to all hotel only bookings:

More than 7 days before departure

You will be charged with a €40 cancellation fee, or you can choose to pay the value of the booking as a whole if it is lower than the cancellation charge. However, if you make a new accommodation booking within 30 days having cancelled more than 7 days before departure, you will be provided with a refund of €15

7 days or less before departure

You will be charged with 100% of the booking value. If you have cancelled 7 days or less before departure contact Travel Republic’s Sales Team to see if any refund is applicable.

Yes, but you will be charged with 100% of the booking value. 

How do I cancel my Travel Republic reservation within 24 hours of booking?

Step 1: Go to Travel Republic’s website and access your booking using the Manage Your Booking tab

Step 2: Submit a Customer Support Request stating that you wish to cancel your reservation

Step 3: Wait for a response from Travel Republic’s customer support. This will not exceed 2 business days, but priority is given to urgent requests that are closer to the time of departure.

Step 4: If you do not wish to go through steps 1-3, then you can call customer support directly.

How can I change my Travel Republic booking?

If you purchased the non-refundable rate from a hotel or other provider, full payment is required at the time of booking. Because this is a promotional rate, no changes at all can be made to your booking once it is confirmed. However if you wish to amend the booking after its confirmed in regards to your flight, please contact Travel Republic’s customer service who will then inform your airline provider of your change request and wait for a response whether or not it’s possible to make the changes. It is not always possible to amend your booking, especially if it is close to the departure time.

To change the date, time or destination of your Travel Republic reservation, follow these steps:

Step 1: Call customer support directly.

Step 2: Tell customer support your request for an amendment to your reservation

Step 3: Wait to hear back from customer support and they will advise you if it is possible to make the changes or not

Step 4: Be prepared to pay €25 amendment fee on top of any airline charges you may be faced with

Travel Republic name change policy

Do you know that you can change the name of the person who is travelling and sell your own holiday to someone else? That way you might be able to recover much more than simply cancelling your booking. Travel Republic allow you to change the name of the passenger for your holiday for a €25 fee. You are also responsible for paying any of the fees that the accommodations or airline subject to you.

How can I change the name on a Travel Republic reservation?

Step 1: Go to Travel Republic’s website and log into your “My Booking”

Step 2: Log in using your flight booking reference and name

Step 3: Submit a Customer Support Request and request the changes you would like to make, such as a name change

Step 4: Wait a maximum of 2 days for a customer service representative to confirm the changes that have or have not been made. Please note that changes to bookings that are closer to their departure date take priority because they are more urgent.

Can I sell my Travel Republic booking?

Yes, you can! As long as the flight and hotel reservation allows for name changes then a simple change of name is all it takes in order to be able to resell your booking. You may be faced with the amendment fee of €25 on top of any airline charges.

But did you know that under the Package Travel Directive, which applies in the whole of the European Union, travel agents have to allow name changes for package holidays? A package holiday is anything where you buy two combinations of travel bookings - like a hotel and a flight. Travel Republic has to allow you to transfer the holiday in another person's name.

Trustworthy and reliable ...

I've used TR for years, and they've always found me a good holiday at a good price. This time I was let down by the transfer: I was a late booking, and my reservation hadn't filtered through their system. In the end, while the three staff bickered about it, rather than sort it out, I took a local bus - which would have been cheaper, and probably just as quick! The return was fine.

Another smooth and sweet booking with TR!

This is the 2nd time we have used TR for our holidays as we are set to revisit our resort in Türkiye again this Summer. Online booking is simple & offers the relevant option to customise our hotel needs. Travel republic -Very poor customer service

Don’t bother, there are many more decent holiday companies out there to book your holidays with. I made a couple of complaints to a hotel I stayed in, the hotel denied I made the complaints and Travel Republic sided with hotel. Did not take me seriously and couldn’t care what the issues were. Never again, stay well clear.

Hassle free holiday

Hassle free holiday, booking easy, kept well informed and involved until our return journey when it appeared that our baggage was not included on our flight home! We had paid for 23kg baggage! It was easily resolved by very helpful and apologetic ground staff at Dalaman airport but it was an unnecessary hold up and could have been worse had it not been for the very nice man at the airport working for BA!

Holiday booking sorted

I went on wrb page to book my apartment in Lanzarote and I wrnt to make payment it wouldnt allow me to put my address in fir billing purpose. Check in up to 24 hours before your flight.

Up to 24 hours before departure, you can check in online. Select “Check In” in the page header or go to My Trips . If you aren’t logged in, enter your confirmation number, SkyMiles number or credit card number to access your itinerary. You can print your boarding pass or get an eBoarding Pass on your mobile device.

Fly Delta App

Make your travel day even easier with the Fly Delta app. After download, check in as a guest, log in or register for a SkyMiles® account. From there, add your trip confirmation number to access your trips. When you’re logged in, you’ll be automatically checked in 24 hours before your flight, and you can use Today Mode to see your boarding pass, baggage tracker and more.

Airport Kiosk

Need to check in at the airport? Already checked in but not ready to go through airport security? Our kiosks are a fast and easy solution. By entering your SkyMiles, confirmation or eTicket number, you can check in for your flight, print your boarding pass, add any checked bags, make a change to your seat, complete a service request and add your frequent flyer number to your profile – all from the touch of your finger.

Airport Check-In Desk

Need check-in assistance at the airport? Speak with us in-person at any of our Delta Air Lines check-in desks. You’ll see an area clearly labeled for Delta flights, with a special Sky Priority™ boarding lane for Gold, Platinum and Diamond Medallion® Members, and Delta One®, Premium Select and First Class passengers.

Airport Curbside

If you’d prefer to check in as soon as you exit the car, find a Delta curbside desk located at passenger drop-off at most U.S. airports. Here, you can check your baggage directly after you’ve exited your vehicle. If you’re bringing oversized baggage, you may have to bring it inside to an oversized baggage area. There is no fee for using curbside check-in at the airport, but gratuities are always appreciated for outstanding service.

Opinion Timed-entry passes prevent national parks from being loved to death

More scenic sites require reservations this summer, but that’s not as bad as you might think.

Summer officially begins Thursday, with the solstice occurring at 4:51 p.m. — the earliest since June 20, 1796. Yet even when the longest day of the year arrives more promptly than expected, there aren’t enough hours in it to enjoy all the fun warm-weather activities one would like. Case in point: visiting the national parks. That’s on many a family’s itinerary this summer, but space is limited, especially now that crowds in the park system have returned to — or exceeded — pre-pandemic levels.

In fact, overcrowding has become a serious problem for some of the most popular parks. In addition to risks this creates for the parks’ wildlife, ecosystems and man-made infrastructure, the sheer stress — traffic jams, fights over parking spots, congested hiking trails — can spoil what should be a relaxing time in the great outdoors. Park rangers sometimes spend more time directing traffic than on duties that actually enhance visitors’ experience, such as interpretive talks.

The National Park Service is responding pragmatically, however, managing the flow of people through the parks with timed-entry reservation systems. About a dozen of the most popular destinations now require booking in advance. The federal government’s travel-planning platform, Recreation.gov , issued more than 2 million timed-entry passes last year, as well as 1.5 million permits and 4 million camping reservations. Recent experience at Yosemite National Park in California illustrates the need: Yosemite instituted a timed-entry system to deal with a surge of outdoor recreation seekers during the pandemic, discontinued it last year, experienced gridlock — and reinstated the reservation system this year.

The latest to join the trend is Rocky Mountain National Park, just outside booming Denver. Last month, the NPS announced that Rocky Mountain, where annual visits exceeded 4 million in 2023, up by about a million from 2013, will institute a permanent timed-entry reservation system this summer. The purpose is to spread entries out across the day and throughout the park during the high season from late May to mid-October. The NPS acted only after testing the concept in pilot programs for three years.

To be sure, getting a permit to experience natural wonders feels at odds with America’s land-of-the-free ethos and with the fact that those natural wonders belong to the public. Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-Mont.), who was interior secretary in the Trump administration, has denounced what he calls “a deliberate strategy to keep the public out of parks.” In addition to objections along those lines, critics of the reservation system cite practical issues: Lodge owners near parks complain of canceled bookings. Reserving online precludes road-trip spontaneity, and the process can be a hassle, especially when the internet turns glitchy. Indeed, there are concerns about equity in a system that favors those with computer and internet access.

Valid though the criticisms might be, the essential trade-off remains: maximizing access to the parks vs. preserving their quality. Properly designed reservation systems can help strike the right balance. Rocky Mountain, for example, took three steps to maximize flexibility for visitors. The park releases 40 percent of each day’s available passes at 7 p.m. the night before so they aren’t all snapped up a month ahead of time. Reservations are required only from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Finally, in what’s sometimes rare for federal agencies, the park promises to review usage patterns every year and adjust accordingly.

Wherever possible, parks could require reservations only for marquee sites most at risk of being loved to death, as opposed to park access generally. Anyone can enter Zion National Park in Utah, for example, but you need a permit — distributed by lottery — to climb the famous Angels Landing. Similarly, vehicle reservations are required to drive to the summit of Cadillac Mountain in Maine’s Acadia National Park. And Shenandoah National Park in Virginia now requires tickets to hike Old Rag Mountain from March through November.

Parks should continue to tailor rules to local considerations, with input from the community. Haleakala National Park in Hawaii requires reservations to drive in for the sunrise — between 3 and 7 a.m. — but not to see the sunset. Arches National Park in Utah also rewards highly motivated early risers: Tickets are required only from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Smart crowd management at big-name parks might steer more traffic to underutilized gems. An America the Beautiful pass provides unlimited entry to national parks and more than 2,000 other federal recreation sites, only a few of which require timed-entry passes. It’s $80 per year, and we’d call that a bargain even at twice the price.
