For those wanting the highest level of service as well as having a passion for being adventurous, On The Go Tours are a great company to travel with.

Back in the cold winter of 1998 in London, Scott and Jay, founders of On The Go, followed the warmth of the sun and summer for an unforgettable adventure. It was this experience of traveling the world discovering history, cultures, and the incredible beauty that surrounds us, that lead to On The Go tours being born. Understanding how special the friends they made along the way were, they wanted to inspire others to travel and have similar amazing adventures; and that was shaped into On The Go tours.

Why On The Go Tours

Comfortable Travel On The Go knows that adventures can be better when the day ends with a cold beer by the pool or a soft pillow to lay down on. Each day On The Go is searching out comfortable hotels and boutique properties where travelers can stay while on tour. On The Go is known for their attitude of “adventure in style”! Friendly Team When traveling with the On the Go team, you will notice that they are more like a family than a group of colleagues. Editoral Review of On The Go Tours

On the Go Tour is a British-based tour company that runs primarily guided tours around the world but will also help fashion independent travel itineraries.

What Makes On the Go Tours Stand Out?

They have a large number of holiday styles, including a large number of options for independent travellers looking for tailor made trips. On the Go Tours is very accommodating and popular amongst solo and single travellers, with most of their escorted group tours requiring no single supplement.

Specialty tours, such as Tintin tours to Egypt, Jordan, and India, based on the adventures of the famous Belgian cartoon-book boy-journalist-explorer, are one of the main things that sets On the Go Tours apart.

Who Will Enjoy Travelling with On the Go Tours?

Those travellers who gravitate to busy, lively, itineraries, that also allow for spontaneity, and are budget conscious will love travelling on holidays with On the Go Tours. They are also very popular among those interested in festivals around the globe. These events are often large scale and can be difficult to navigate, find accommodation, and stay safe.

travelers enjoying camping overland On the Go Tours

On the Go Tours provides a way to take the stress out of planning to attend a festival. And not just music, but Carnival at Rio; the vibrant Holi Festival in India; the Dragon Boat Festival in China; the Nadaam Festival in Mongolia; and the Boryeong Mud Festival in South Korea, along with many others. So if you are culturally curious and enjoy the idea of large crowds attending the same meaningful event, On the Go Tours would be a great place to start for these travel plans.

Lantern lights nighttime festival

Travellers with On the Go Tours are mostly age 28 and up, and you can expect a wide range of ages and backgrounds among the group. These holidays are relatively active in nature - a lot of walking and time outdoors, On the Go does offer some family itineraries suitable for children. They also actively solicit single travelers, and don’t require a single supplement. Nationality wise, they attract mainly British, New Zealand, Australian, North American, and South African.

Top Destinations

On the Go Tours operate around the world, with a large majority of holidays offered in Asia, Africa, and Europe. Australia, and Central and South America are also popular.

On the Go Tours Travel Style

Jeep on Safari On the Go Tours

The On the Go Tours travel style is a combination of coach travel, 3 to 4 star accommodation, some camping, walking and cycling. These tours will keep you active, and in most cases you will carry your own luggage, so pack light, and if you are relatively physically fit you will enjoy the days far more.

They have 5 “Holiday ranges” to help you determine the tour type that is going to be best suited to you.

1. Signature - The On the Go Tours Signature Collection is a group of higher end offerings. Accommodations will be in 4-5 star hotels, and groups are kept smaller, with a maximum of 24 people. Destinations are primarily focused in Asia, with a few departures in Europe including Iceland, Russia, and Italy. Peru is also available.

Thailand longboats and beach On the Go Tours

2. Budget - Budget tours are a key component of On the Go Tours. These trips are for active backpackpackers interested in meeting similar travelers in a larger group (max 32). You will be carrying your own luggage, and using a variety of transportation including overland vehicles, public buses and trains. Accommodation is in tented camps and 2-3 star hotels. Most meals are up to you and not included in the itinerary or base price.

3. Handpicked - These trips visit classic and iconic sights, utilizing locally run tours (where you might join up with other tour takers, not exclusively your own tour companions). Partners on the ground help On the Go craft a unique vision for your itinerary. Groups are small, around 28 people max.

Private meal in Morocco tours and holidays

4. Active - Active holidays with On the Go tours are intended for those travellers interested in being outdoors and have an adventurous frame of mind. Whether you’re traveling by bike, or on foot trekking or hiking. Travellers who are physically fit and used to stretching their limits will find the most enjoyment on an Active trip with On the Go Tours. Active holidays are offered in Asia and the Middle East primarily, with outings also available in Croatia, Turkey, and Africa.

5. Independent - For those travellers who aren’t as excited about a group tour and like the idea of being on their own but with a professionally planned itinerary, On the Go Tours has you covered! These bespoke tours allow you to have input over what you see, and the pace of your journey. Expect to pay a little bit more for this experience (bespoke tours with On the Go can be considered akin to their Signature Collection), but having the expertise behind your itinerary is all worth it.

Why Choose an Escorted Tour with On the Go Tours?

Angkor Wat sunrise On the Go Tours

On the Go is a perfect starting place for active travellers who maybe don’t know quite yet the kind of journey they’re looking for and want a lot of choice. Prices are kept in the low to mid budget range, and on most tours you can expect a lot of inclusions - this does means there is quite a bit less free time available during the itinerary to explore on your own, so if this matters a lot to you, On the Go may not be the best fit.

From tours that specialise in festivals and events (both obscure and popular, musical and cultural), to bespoke holidays designed for you personally, to extended overland journeys, On the Go Tours has tons of holiday types to choose from.

Young active traveler with On the Go Tours

Destinations cover a wide range of popular, classic, and off the beaten path locations from less traveled areas of Eastern Europe to the Middle East and Africa. The age range is diverse, and solo travelers are very welcome and actively encouraged to join On the Go Tours. This is a great tour company for meeting new people who have like-minded approaches to travel.

About the company.

Escaping a cold London winter back in 1998, we followed the sun for a colourful adventure around the world. Discovering amazing history, interesting cultures and the jaw-dropping beauty of our planet, the friends we made along the way made our journey all the more special. Inspired to share our experiences, the seeds were sown and On The Go Tours was born.

Over the years we’ve grown into a small yet global company, with a purposeful local ethos. True to our own travels, authenticity is core to our holidays. We’d love you to experience a country the way it really is, with people who live there and know it inside out. We know this makes the difference between a great holiday and a truly memorable one. Our carefully sought out English-speaking local guides are passionate about sharing their country with you and we believe that they are amongst the best in the business.

We know too that adventure feels better with a chilled beer poolside or a soft pillow at the end of each day and we search out comfortable hotels and boutique properties for your stay. As we love to say - travel with us and adventure in style!

Unbeatable value: Combining authentic local experiences with an excellent range of 3-5 star hotels & boutique properties, our tours represent unbeatable value. Add in airport transfers, passionate tour guides and all transportation and you do get the best of adventure travel and creature comforts too.

Great group size: With an average of 15 and a maximum of 24, our group size really works well on tour, so you’re bound to meet like-minded travellers and make lasting friendships. Our festival tours do have larger group sizes due to their ‘one-off’ nature.

100% Guaranteed: Not only are all our group tour departures 100% guaranteed, we are also fully financially bonded, so you can book our tours with absolute confidence. We’re proud to say that we recently won 2 prestigious British Travel Awards and were runner up for another 3, testament to the quality of our holidays.

We just finished our Circle Island & Hidden Gems tour with Cousin Charlie, and we had an amazing time! Charlie took such great care of us and was so informative with all his stories and trivia about the island. He treated us like Ohana and was so patient, making sure no one was left behind. Even the other tour guides from different Go Tours buses were saying we were with the best tour guide in the company! So glad we were on his bus today!

I thought it would be another ordinary guided tour, but actually, it was much better than that. Kanamu, the guide, was very professional, energetic, informative, and entertaining. I want to have another chance to join.

This was a fantastic tour- John was our guide and Noel our driver, both professional, knowledgeable and helpful. We got history and a look at MANY Oahu sites. Very, very fun. The reason for 4 stars is that we only had a short time in each location (even lunch was 45 min) and got back to the city by 3:00-would have loved to have the extra hour advertised to have more than 15 min at several locations. Great tour though. 100% recommended!

I booked Go Tours Hawaii at Waikiki with Makani who works at the Go Tours Hawaii storefront off Kalakaua Ave in Waikiki. Makani is your man! We booked the Island Tour and had John the driver and Noah our tour guide who both were FANTASTIC! John was such a safe and great driver and Noah was the truth! I appreciated how he was able to balance the light hearted fun, information, and kept it real with Hawaii history. We learned some fun myths and he even shared some personal stories of family and friends which truly made us feel more connected. The personal touch was great. Noah was also very hands on with the stops we had and would help out vendors who had DELICIOUS snacks and foods! Do not pass up on the plantain lumpias! WOW!! I wish I bought more! We felt taken care of and enjoyed every bit of the mini adventures of the Island Tours with the Waimea waterfall swim. The pit stops were super fun and it helped me navigate where to spend more time at later on my trip. Thank you Go Tours Hawaii! I'm recommending everyone to you!

John, our tour guide, was perfect! Funny and such interesting facts! Thank you! Our driver Noel was great too

go tours reviews

We loved the sarcastic humor from our tour guide Colins. He was straight forward with what services and recommendations he could offer and was open to give local recommendations and conversations. I liked that shuttles were for smaller groups of 25. But that also meant no bathrooms in this shuttle. However our tour guide did mention all the stops that would have restrooms. The shuttle was older but was spacious. My favorite thing was he recommended these fried bananas that were SO good!! There's a long list of stops but most of them are either 10-30 minutes. This was a good starter tour to see the island, but you definitely need more time on some of the stops.

It's been a week and half since we left and I can't get over Kanamu at the go tours.... She was the best guide I have ever had on any tour. The fact that I am still thinking about her is a testimony to how good she was.... highly recommended.

Vietnam tour was excellent

Excellent tour guide

I recently visited Morocco as part of a group tour, and I must say, it was a remarkable experience. Our tour guide, Omar was an absolute gem and made the Morocco journey unforgettable. Omar's extensive knowledge of the country, its history, and its culture was impressive. He answered every question we had, no matter how small or random. His passion and enthusiasm were contagious, and he made every stop fascinating. Moreover, Omar's friendly demeanor and genuine hospitality made us feel like we were traveling with an old friend. He was always willing to extend the extra mile. This was whether it was helping us navigate bustling markets or providing local tips for the finest restaurants and cafes. His genuine care and concern for our well-being made the trip more enjoyable. Overall, my experience in Morocco with our excellent tour guide, Omar, was exceptional. His expertise, adaptability, and genuine care made the trip truly unforgettable. I would wholeheartedly recommend Omar to anyone planning a visit to Morocco.

Date of experience : 06 April 2024

We are truly pleased that you enjoyed your time with Omar and appreciate the wonderful feedback about this experience!

The trip is wonderful in opportunities to view game but lacks basic necessities

This trip is wonderful in the opportunities offered to experience the wonders of Southern Africa. However, there are glaring exceptions! Contracted through Kiboko tours, the safari trucks have neither air conditioning or comfortable seats. Often driving for 6 to 8 hours a day over dirt roads in extreme heat through the dry and extremely hot conditions of the Kalahari desert, Namibian dunes, Etosha and other game parks. We were subjected to extreme heat well over 100 degrees Fahrenheit with no water provided by Kiboko!

Date of experience : 07 October 2023

Totally Morocco was totally awesome

Totally Morocco was totally awesome! From the moment of pick up from the airport, we felt welcome and looked after. Our main tour guide was a joy. He was friendly, funny, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable. The tour covered all of the major sights. The highlight was the camel ride and stay at the camp under a full moon. The guides in Marrakech and Fez were equally friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recomend this tour.

recently I did 8 days Imperial Morocco…

recently I did 8 days Imperial Morocco & The Blue City tour with On the Go Tours( 30April to 8May 2023). It was seamless from the day one. Their tour guide received me at the Casablanca Airport and remained with us for the whole time , traveling with us explaining all the history of the places we were visiting or passing through. The guide, Hassan (Lhoucine) was very polite, patient, helping and friendly. I wish more guides were like him. Well done On The Go Tours. I am certainly looking forward to travelling again with you. I have Egypt and Kenya next in my list.

Experienced Vietnam

Good Evening We recently went on a trip to Vietnam and our guide Sunny . Was very helpful and understanding . She gave her all and arranged many things for us , we saw and experience many things that I believe if we went on our own we would have missed out on . Thanks for the fabulous holiday . Clare and Sebastian

Many thanks for the positive feedback!

Wish I could do it all over again- Amazing!!!

Natsu-san was the best thing about this trip. She was so energetic and lovely and honestly made me and the rest of the group feel so lucky and catered too! Honestly, we hit peak bloom in almost all the places we visited and the tour hit all the major things that you want to do in Japan. Since you are hitting a lot of things- not a lot of time is given to each. During this time of year, it seems like a lot of people come from internationally but also from all over Japan. Also, people outside of Tokyo are usually thrilled to talk to you, and if you go up to anyone and ask for help with google translator, were happy to help!

We are so pleased you enjoyed your time with us in Japan and hope to welcome you on holiday again very soon!

King Tutankhamun 10 day Egypt Tour.

King Tutankhamun 10 day Egypt Tour. I’ve just returned from doing this tour, and it was my trip of a lifetime. It was everything I imagined, plus more. From first contact with ‘On the Go Tours’ it was a great experience. Every question was answered prior to departure. Once there, I was looked after from the time I landed until I left again. This made it smooth and easy, especially for me as a single female traveller. Then our actual tour guide, Dino, was remarkable. As well as being a qualified Egyptologist, he entertained us all with his facts and stories. He made the whole group feel relaxed and comfortable from the start. I would thoroughly recommend ‘On the Go’ tours, particularly if you prefer a smaller group.

Moroccan, Road to Casablanca

The whole trip was amazing, the local family stays and meals were the best. The camel ride and camping in the Sahara desert were unforgettable. Disappointed that we didn’t have time for souvenir shopping. The long days in the bus was were certainly worth it.

Thank you so much for the great review!

My husband and I have just returned from Jordan, having driven with a Jordanian driver from Amman to Aqaba. We loved the country BUT the cruelty we saw to the little donkeys in Petra was horrific. I want to warn all tourists who visit Petra not to ride the little donkeys. They are two young and beaten to be ridden. The place has left me with nightmares of the cruelty metered out to these poor creatures.

Date of experience : 22 September 2023

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your time with us in Jordan and appreciate you taking the time to post your feedback. Although Petra itself is a fantastic highlight on many of our tours, you are certainly correct in highlighting that some local providers do not take animal cruelty as a serious consideration. Of course, our company prides itself on offering sustainable travel with a focus on animal welfare, and it is with this in mind that we do not include donkey riding on our tours or recommend travellers to partake in this activity.

Just returned from a trip to Morocco

Just returned from a trip to Morocco. Our guide, JAMAL, made this the BEST trip I've experienced. He is patient, funny, accommodating, hardworking, gracious and knowledgeable. I wish there was a Jamal in every city of your tours around the world. Thanks to Jamal for a great holiday.

Unforgettable experience, thanks to our guide Jamal, and the most amazing group in the magical Morocco

Christmas and New Years in Morocco was the best trip that I've ever had ! Our guide Jamal was very professional and knowledgeable and also he took care of all our needs in a friendly, calm and patient manner. He was really welcoming and genuine…! He waited for me at mi arrival at the airport, as well !! I totally rate 5 stars for our guide. We were 15 in the group and together with the guide Jamal and professional driver Mohamed, our vehicle was full of enjoyment and curiosity. We had the most fabulous time, singing and laughing. I definitely recommend this trip around Morocco. It is a very special destination, where you’ll be able to getting to know the history of its land and peoples, marveling at the changing landscapes on our drive, feasting on the local foods.

King Ramses Tour (October - November 2023)

October / November 2023 We have just returned home from the King Ramses tour through On the Go Tours - Egypt. We would like to acknowledge and thank MoMo our tour guide who was amazing and couldn't do enough for us and the entire tour. His knowledge of the Egyptian culture and artifacts that he provided was fantastic and memorable. He was excellent in bringing the group together and we all had an unforgettable time. He was always available for our endless questions and always made sure of that we had a seamless experience at all times. Egypt is an amazing place to visit and this was complimented by the professional support provided by On the Go Tours. From the moment we arrived in Cairo we were greeted by On the Go staff, right up until we left Cairo were the staff stayed with us until we were through checking in and customs at the airport. He supported us with any questions that were asked of us and make sure the whole process was easy. We would highly recommend On the Tour Egypt.

Fantastic experience, would definitely recommend this company.

We were well looked after by all the tour guides who were welcoming, approachable, funny and knowledgeable about their country/heritage. Everything we were promised in the brochure, including transfers, was provided and the activities were diverse and thoroughly enjoyable. Hotels used were of a good to excellent standard. Any food included was of an excellent standard and reflected the countries cuisine.

Pyramids to Petra Review

My boyfriend (30) and I (28) have had an amazing trip, on Pyramids to Petra, seeing some incredible sights and experencing this all alongside like minded people. Special thanks to Nader (Egypt tour guide from Alexandria) and G (Jordan tour guide from Petra). Both these guides were so knowledgable about the history and locations we visited, and were able to accomodate the different needs of 24 of us in Egypt and 15 in Jordan. On the go said it would be a small group, but didn't specify the numbers before arrival. I was hesitant at first when I realised how large the groups were, but we bonded well and had enough free time to feel like we could also make the holiday bespoke to our preferences.

EF Go Ahead Tours Review 2024: Are their guided tours worth it?

EF Go Ahead Tours Review 2024: Are their guided tours worth it?

EF Go Ahead Tours is a world-leading guided tour company offering a comprehensive travel package with local guides and authentic travel experiences. You've likely heard of them before, but are they really worth it? What do they offer, and how do they stack up to other guided tours?

go tours reviews

Guided tours are a great way to travel, make new friends, and enjoy new experiences without the hassle of planning the logistics of the trip.

While guided tour companies boast of convenience, they tend to fall short when it comes to flexibility and customization. Hence, many travelers resort to planning their trips by themselves using helpful apps like  Pilot .

But, if you still prefer a guided tour with some level of flexibility, EF Go Ahead Tours is definitely a choice to consider.

EF Go Ahead Tours is one of the world's largest tour companies that host small group tours with unique, authentic experiences. A great benefit of joining an EF Go Ahead Tour is that they allow travelers the benefits of hosting a free private tour with larger groups.

However, are the experiences they're offering for you? What are the pros and cons? Here's our review of EF Go Ahead Tours!

EF Go Ahead Tours Logo.

What is EF Go Ahead Tours?

EF Go Ahead Tours  is a brand under the EF Tours group that offers both guided and fully customizable tours to destinations worldwide. It caters to young and older travelers, admitting anyone from age six and above (under-age travelers accompanied by adults). The number of travelers in each group is capped at 14-38, and small group tours only admit 10-22 people.

EF Go Ahead Tours aims to provide you with meaningful tours with flexibility and personalization. It also promotes responsible travel by supporting local communities and adopting sustainable practices.

EF Go Ahead Tours mobile app helps you easily manage your bookings and view tour details. It is available for both Android and iOS devices.

What does EF Go Ahead Tours offer?

  • Tour directors and local guides:  A tour director is assigned for each group to be in charge of all logistics of the trip. They will accompany you throughout, sharing insider knowledge and background information about places you visit.
  • Accommodation:  3-4 star hotels that provide comfortable amenities while being located in close proximity to the city.
  • Meals:  Breakfast and some other meals are included in the pricing. Primarily, they focus on local food and beverage specialties. They will arrange meals meeting your dietary requirements if necessary.
  • Transportation:  Transport between airport and hotels and other transportation required during the trip are included in the package. While flights are not included, you can get EF Go Ahead Tours to arrange them for you at an additional cost.

EF Go Ahead tour benefits.

How does EF Go Ahead Tours work?

You can browse for tours by  Destination  or  Travel Styles  on the website. Travel styles are further categorized as  Trip Type, Interests, Seasonal and Special Events , and  With Your Own Group .

For example, all the related tours will appear if we pick Adventure Tours under travel styles. You can filter the results further by destination, dates, duration, price, and travel style.

Check out its details, trip highlights, prices, reviews, etc. There's a list of FAQs below related to the trip and other similar tours for you to compare and choose from.

What destinations does EF Go Ahead Tours cover?

EF Go Ahead Tours covers many of the popular destinations worldwide. Here's a list of where EF Go Ahead Tours covers:

  • Europe:  Ireland, Italy, Greece, Iceland, England, France, and Germany
  • The Americas:  United States, Canada, Costa Rica, Peru, Ecuador, and Belize
  • Africa & Middle East:  Egypt, Kenya, Israel, South Africa, Turkey, and United Arab Emirates
  • Australia & Asia:  Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, India, and Thailand

Benefits of EF Go Ahead Tours

  • Worry-free guarantee

If you cancel the booking within 60 days from the reservation date, you are entitled to a full refund. EF Go Ahead Tours also allows you to change the date of tour or destination up until your final payment day. It helps you book with confidence knowing there's ample time to make changes.

In addition to covering many destinations worldwide, the tour company also offers a diverse range of tours. Group trips for solo travelers provide ample privacy while facilitating socialization. In addition, there are cruise tours, rail tours, food & wine tours, battlefield tours, winter tours, and many more!

  • Fewer people

The worrisome factor about large group tours is they can seem too crowded and noisy to have a quality experience. There's also less opportunity to get to know other travelers better. In this case, small group tours offer a more intimate travel experience. Guides can give individual attention and advice easily. Overall, it makes the trip more enjoyable and memorable.

  • Flexibility

If you like to travel with friends but don't have the liberty to plan, get EF Go Ahead Tours to plan one for you. You can explain your requirements and get a whole new itinerary done or choose one they offer. Invite your friends and/or family, choose your travel dates, and enjoy. There's also the option of organizing faith-based tours!

Adventure travel experiences.

Drawbacks of EF Go Ahead Tours

  • Increase the number of tours

While there's a variety of tours, different trip options under each category are quite limited compared to other guided tour companies like  G Adventures  or  Contiki . For example, there's only one tour option for India. They can also add more countries to their list of destinations.

  • Improve refund and cancellation issues

Customers had faced refund and cancellation issues for scheduled or booked tours during the pandemic. There were complaints of EF Go Ahead Tours not refunding the money as per its cancellation policy. But, it's a common problem that many tour companies dealt with their customers following the Covid outbreak. We hope they are resolved now.

EF Go Ahead Tours vs. EF Ultimate Break

The most significant similarity between EF Go Ahead Tours and EF Ultimate Break is that they are managed by EF Education First Tours. This means that you'll most likely be getting a similar refund, cancellation, and customer service policies between the two tours.

EF Go Ahead Tours identifies itself as the 'older sibling' of EF Ultimate Break. Ultimate Break Tours is geared towards college students and folks aged 18-29, while Go Ahead Tours admits anyone 6 and above. So, the tours offered also tend to be different from each other.

EF Go Ahead Tours has a wide variety of tours catering to all age ranges. It also provides both private and group tours. EF Ultimate Break only offers group tours and are tailored to suit youth's preferences.

  • Variety of tours

Inflated Oasis ticket prices 'depressing' - government promises review of dynamic pricing

"Time to look back in anger," one Oasis fan wrote on social media amid anger at how the highly anticipated reunion tour was ticketed.

Monday 2 September 2024 12:44, UK

Credit: Oasis X account

The government has promised to look into dynamic ticket pricing, after the cost of tickets for the Oasis reunion tour more than doubled while on sale.

Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy described the selling of inflated Oasis tickets as "depressing" as she said surge pricing would be included in a government review of the secondary gig sales market.

On Saturday, fans of the world-famous band sat in virtual queues for hours hoping to get their hands on tickets to one of the reunion shows next year.

However, when they got through the two queues and lengthy waits, many were met with ticket prices far higher than face value.

A person in a queue to access the Ticketmaster website on their phone, with the StubHub website in the background, detailing information about Oasis concert tickets for sale, in London. Oasis fans across the UK and Ireland who missed out on pre-sale tickets will be attempting to secure their place at the band's reunion concerts during Saturday's general sale. Issue date: Saturday August 31, 2024.

Some expressed their anger on social media , as tickets worth £148 were being sold for £355 on Ticketmaster within hours of release, due to the dynamic pricing systems.

Speaking over the weekend, Ms Nandy announced that such issues, as well as the "technology around queuing systems which incentivise it", would be looked into in an upcoming government consultation.

She said: "After the incredible news of Oasis's return, it's depressing to see vastly inflated prices excluding ordinary fans from having a chance of enjoying their favourite band live.

"This government is committed to putting fans back at the heart of music.

"So we will include issues around the transparency and use of dynamic pricing, including the technology around queuing systems which incentivise it, in our forthcoming consultation on consumer protections for ticket resales.

"Working with artists, industry, and fans we can create a fairer system that ends the scourge of touts, rip-off resales, and ensures tickets at fair prices."

What is dynamic pricing?

The demand-based system was introduced by Ticketmaster in 2022.

It said it was brought in to stop touts and ensure more money goes to the artists.

Essentially, when there is a lot of demand for tickets, and limited supply, the price can go up.

Amid anger over Oasis's ticket prices, the company said they do not set prices and shared a link to a website that said costs could be "fixed or market-based".

On its own website, Ticketmaster describes its "Platinum" tickets as those that have their price adjusted according to supply and demand.

It says the goal of the dynamic pricing system is to "give fans fair and safe access to the tickets, while enabling artists and other people involved in staging live events to price tickets closer to their true market value".

The company claims it is artists, their teams, and promoters who set pricing and choose whether dynamic pricing is used for their shows.

Government minister Lucy Powell was among those hit by dynamic pricing on Saturday, and eventually forked out more than double the original quoted cost of a ticket for an Oasis show.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) backed news of the government's review.

A spokesperson said: "We want fans to get a fair deal when they go to buy tickets on the secondary market and have already taken action against major resale websites to ensure consumer law is being followed properly.

"But we think more protections are needed for consumers here, so it is positive that the government wants to address this. We now look forward to working with them to get the best outcomes for fans and fair-playing businesses."

It comes after Noel and Liam Gallagher confirmed the band's long-awaited reunion on Tuesday last week.

Dynamic pricing is common within industries beyond music, with it being used frequently in the travel industry, with hotel rooms and airline tickets.

Frequent Taylor Swift collaborator Jack Antonoff previously said that dynamic pricing is an issue .

He told Stereogum that he wanted artists to be able to opt out of the system and be able to sell them at the price they chose.

Ticketmaster has been approached for comment.

Went to Quito and Galapagos Islands

Went to Quito, Galapagos Islands and several other cities in Ecuador. Our tour director and naturalist were wonderful. The issue was our first hotel. Very tiny rooms for the price of a pre tour stay at $240.00. And our cabin on the Galapagos Legend was not what we asked for many months in advance. They put us in the front of the boat instead of numbers of suites we requested in middle. The boat rocked all night and my wife felt sea sick. I had to prop up a pillow to stay in my bed. To make matters worse, the anchor in the front of the ship dropped several times in the middle of the night, causing us to wake up. The company know of our request of rooms and failed to do anything about it. They told us we should have requested that we be moved after we got on cruise ship but the ship was full, and the ship, and Go Ahead had our requests way in advance. They offered us zero compensation for the lousy accommodations after we talked with someone from Go Ahead Tours. Never again and we will tell all our friends and family not to use this company.

I have always recommended Go AHead as…

I have always recommended Go AHead as we always felt secure with them until this trip. Purchased travel insurance through Go Ahead Tours, they use Seven Corners. Flights were cancelled in Amsterdam and had to stay overnight, no help from Go Ahead Tours on finding hotel or things to do. Filed claim in June of 2022 with Seven Corners and still haven't talked to anybody just keep getting emails that they are backed up and working claims in order they are received. I guess they have older claims than June of 2022 (almost 9 months) about to file a claim with the insurance commission on them if I can find out what state to file it in. Have travel 5 times and always bought travel insurance but never had to file a claim, the one time I file we get the run-a-round!!
