25 wineries to choose from grand junction to palisade wine tours.

For many, the word Colorado conjures up images of skiing, mountain streams and breathtaking wilderness.  While Palisade Wine Tours boast the beautiful landscapes that Colorado is famous for, it’s also home to a unique gem – Colorado Wine Country.  Known for its premier Colorado Wineries, this quaint town nestled in the Grand Valley houses two-thirds of Colorado vineyards acreage and more than one-quarter of Colorado’s wineries.  Sitting atop artesian wells, which provide extra irrigation for grapes growers, the Grand Valley’s microclimate of sunny days, dry air and cool nights work together to produce plump grapes for the area wineries.  The result?  Award-winning wines.  Come taste what Palisade has to offer.

Area wineries welcome visitors for tastings and sometimes tours, and most have picnic areas, so bring your lunch. Organized tours by van or limousine are also available. Most wineries are located in the community of Palisade , about 12 miles east of Grand Junction, up the Grand Valley along U.S. 6 (I-70 exit 42).

Exploring Colorado Wine Country in Paonia, Grand Junction and Aspen

Paonia, Colorado is nestled in the secluded North Fork Valley – between Aspen and Grand Junction as the crow flies. It is a unique climate where Colorado’s incredible Rocky Mountains merge dramatically with the mesas and flats of Utah.

In the last year, the world has started to catch on to Colorado’s best kept secret: the North Fork Valley is host to a secluded natural beauty, a temperate climate and geology that supports fine Colorado wine making, and a presence of creative, individualistic personalities to preside over it all.

The North Fork today reminds some of the Willamette Valley in Oregon twenty years ago – an epicenter of great wine, burgeoning food and wonderful people.

While the North Fork can’t approach Willamette Valley’s size, it does embrace a unique set of environmental and cultural circumstances that make it one of the best places to eat, drink and be merry in the state – all with a real, down to earth country flavor that no longer exists in many of America’s fine wine regions. As Colorado wine moves rapidly into the top five wine producing states for quality, the North Fork is leading the way,

Midland announce new album 'Barely Blue' and fall 2024 tour

Grammy-nominated country band Midland will unveil a new record this fall.

Revealed today , the band will deliver their fourth studio album Barely Blue on September 20 via Big Machine Records. For this record, the band worked with Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb at Georgia Mae Studios in Savannah, GA. Vocalist Mark Wystrach said this about working with Cobb:

“Dave Cobb had been a producer we wanted to work with since we first heard Sturgill Simpson’s Metamodern Sounds in Country Music. Dave’s eclectic musical background and the way he approaches recording as an experience and not a task made him the perfect match for us. On Barely Blue, we feel like Dave helped us find the sound we’ve been searching for for a long time.”

A new single from the album titled “Lucky Sometimes” comes with a music video directed by Harper Smith, which can be seen here . Wystrach said this about the new single:

“‘Lucky Sometimes’ is a get up and go, hot streak, feel good anthem for when it feels like you just can’t lose. The arrangement is sparse with a high and lonesome groove that crests with soaring harmonies on the hook. It’s the first song on the album and an introduction to the new sonic landscape that Midland found with Dave Cobb at the helm.”

Midland also revealed a fall trek across the United States, which starts on September 19 at The Andrew J Brady Music Center in Cincinnati. For this tour, the band will be joined by Tanya Tucker, Colin Stough, Colby Acuff, Elvie Shane, Jackson Dean, and The Wilder Blue on select shows. Tickets will go on sale this Friday (June 28) at 10 a.m. local time.

Starting tomorrow (June 27), Midland will embark on a headlining summer tour. Tickets for all shows can be found here .
